My 4590 was feeling a bit long in the tooth, so I ordered a 5775 which is still a few days from arriving.

In prep I updated the BIOS to latest as I was still on the original 1.05. Everything seemed okay until reboot. Now it wont POST - just goes 4F then restarts itself again and agin.

Was this a bad flash or is it something else? If it is a failed BIOS update, how do I recover from it? On previous boards I could switch to a backup BIOS or perform a sequence to recover from removable media but I don't see anything in the manual for this one.

The Triple-BIOS switch is located right below the 24-pin mobo connector..Power off, move it to another position, power on..Roll from there.

Be sure to not flash a BIOS that works..Try to save BIOS 1 as a working BIOS.

Make sure you get a BIOS for a 111-HR-E973 (Z97 Stinger Wifi) mobo from the EVGA Download Center..Version 2.04 is the latest.

Maybe I'm just blind - but I don't see anything in the way of a switch near the 24 pin power? I've completely torn the system down now in troubleshooting just in case it was under the heatsink or rear shroud. My actual board:

I've confirmed I definitely had the right BIOS image already, it was flashed off a USB drive.

You're right..Was looking at the wrong Z97 model, sorry..There's no BIOS switch on the mITX Stinger Wi-Fi.

It seems to be borked and you should Contact EVGA and have them send you a new/updated replaceable BIOS chip to put in it..It's inside that clamshell holder near the SATA connectors..See pages 137-139 in the Z270 FTW-K Manual about how to do it, it's the same procedure.

Fixed it by hot swap flashing with a completely different motherboard.

I was a bit concerned it wouldn't work as even though the other boards socket was electrically compatible, the chip in it was double the capacity. Turned out not to be an issue at all.
