Hi y'all. I have some G.Skill Trident Z5 memory sticks (2x32G 6000mhz) Link to NewEgg page. For some reason, only one stick is recognized. What I've done: * Tried each individual stick in all slots by itself, all slots and both sticks work * Tried different sticks ( Ripjaws 2x32 5600mhz) in slots 2 and 4 together, both are recognized. * Clearing CMOS * Used XMP profiles to set voltage/clock targets * Updated BIOS to version 1.08 What am I missing here? Rest of build: 13900KS w/ ASUS 4090 STRIX NZXT X73 Kraken 360MM AIO EVGA SuperNOVA 1000watt P2 Platinum Sabrent Rocket 4TB

Does the G. Skill get recognized in slot 2 and 4 like the Ripjaw? You might also want to try downgrading the bios version to see if that helps.

The Trident memory is recognized in slot 4 or slot 2 when only one dimm is installed. But when there are two dimms only slot 4 is recognized.
I'll try older bios versions tomorrow.

Let us know if the older BIOs worked.

go to G.skill site & confirm those RAM sticks are recommended for that MB They also fails @ stock timings (non XMP) ? CPU voltage for IMC? XMP - does not always set the Voltage correctly - confirm voltage on sticker matches what you are seeing in BIOS the sticker voltage = the required XMP voltage

JewsOfHazard Yeah, 1.05, 1.07, and 1.08 all have this issue with slot 2. Oh well.
Did any of them work with other slots when you downgraded the bios to get two sticks to work? Also are you using the Ripjaw and Trident at the same time?

I am only using one kit at a time. 1.07 and 1.08 behave the same way, which is that only slot 4 works no matter the config (from what I tested, anyways). That consists of sticks in slots 2 only (ram init fail), 4 only (success), 2 and 4 together (only slot 4 recognized), 3 and 4 together (only slot 4 recognized). On 1.05, 2 only (ram init fail), 2 and 4 together (ram init fail, didn't boot). dbhkfa seems to have it right that the AMD-specific nature of these sticks is probably getting in the way. For now, 64 gigs of the slightly slower RAM is fine. I'll most likely get some faster RAM for this build at some point and put the extra 64 in my server like I originally intended. These I'll just keep onhand for future AMD builds or to sell to a friend at a good price in the future.
