On one hand, it stated what it came with, so that's on you. That said, mistakes happen, I've been there and that can be rough. So what all do you have to plug into sata? I think most drives are going the way of nvme, but depending on what all you're plugging in I think you could get to 4 or 6 pretty quickly. I wonder if you could get an adapter card for the pci-e slot 3 that would share bandwidth with the chipset?

Yeah, that’s on me, I have a lot of HDD’s and 3 SSD’s, and 1 nvme. I’m slowly moving my low capacity drives to larger ones so that I don’t have so many.

Sounds like a good plan. I have to do the same myself. I was able to find these that are what I was trying to describe earlier:

There are a bunch of different brands with a plethora of shapes and review quality. I'd suggest trying to do some research. Also, a quick look would suggest that you don't plug your boot drive into it. I guess it might work for that, but isn't as reliable.

Also keep in mind that in the manual I think one of the M.2 if used will remove the access to two of the SATA ports. I personally didn't run into an issue with my girlfriends build because she has two M.2 and only two SATA drives. One is a backup and the other is for games she might want to play but isn't currently playing often.

Just buy bigger SDDS
