So um...where are the pictures and overclock experiences and all that from everyone who's gotten their Dark boards?! lol (*insert Caddyshack "well, we're waiting" gif here*). I had the z590 FTW owners thread, but I don't own a z590 Dark, so someone else has to get that ball rolling.

What!
I thought you had an entry in the queue. Did you pass on it on the 15th?

I did pass it on...to someone else, but not in the way you ask. Lets just say that board has a long journey ahead of it as it is currently on its way to someone who couldn't access the store page and would not have been able to get one (and just in case anybody wonders, there was zero scalping or profit involved). I am quite happy with my z590 FTW.

I'm sorry I brought it up. That was obviously something you wanted to keep personal.
What you did is a really good thing. Nothing wrong with that.

I just got mine and have it at least posting, I however am picture challenged. Can't get it small enough to post.

Edit took half an hour or more to add picture.

Edit #2 Tom's Review had me worried about eATX fitting and being supported in the case and it fits pretty well and follows the ATX screw positions, I like that. I also like having the up most part usual CPU power location being clutter/wire free.

Is there any information about the rating of the power elements at VRM of Z590 Dark? 90A? 100A?

Got mine yesterday but was able to pull it out today.  Tried out Luumi's profiles (on 1.02, 1.03 and 1.04) for dual rank bdie and no issues with either the 4600 or 4800 profiles.  I did lower the sa/io voltages since my chip doesn't require that much.

Board is very heavy, the heatsinks on the VRM have a very thick baseplate.

Is that real? Lol daaaaaaang. What memory is that, what voltage is it running at, how are you cooling it, and who did you kill to get a cpu with that kind of memory controller quality?

Memory? See the CPU-Z SPD tab.
Cooling? The CPU has an AIO, and the memory has a weak fan blowing in its general direction.
Voltages? Too much. 1.65 io aux and 1.725 sa, 1.96vdimm, 1.225vcore with -75% droop setting.
This chip is the only RKL chip I've touched, bought retail from ShopBLT a couple months ago. I wouldn't call this a golden chip either, just the result of pushing the IMC volts to unsafe levels.

Man I honestly don't know
I haven't run "safe" in a long time
I wouldn't push more than 1.55 io/sa and 1.45 vcore on RKL for actual daily use, assuming you can keep it cool

scatterbencher said u dont need to worry abt voltages (vcore voltage) as u will thermal throttle before u reach a deadly voltage. do u agree upon this?intel's spec is 1.52v with offset=1.72v . dont know what that means ( for vcore) for sa its 1.52v.i had a msi board (unify x) and the software utility for controlling voltage overridden my llc i set in bios. so when i put 1.58v on the software thinking that it would drop to 1.47 on load with the llc i set ( btw this is vcc sense , i believe its socket sense as llc 3 has no droop on idle and load) but it went to 1.58v on load ( prime 95 small no avx/avx512, ht disabled) , temp went to 95c, power consumption went from 320w to 400w on 5.4ghz 4.9cache, ran it for 10 seconds as i realized something was wrong.so do u think the chip degraded at all? also has your chip degraded with that much voltage put on the imc?

If your chip still runs the same clocks it did before the accident, I wouldn't worry about it. I certainly wouldn't recommend even 1.5vcore load for daily unless you had a strong chiller and could keep it very cool.
I haven't experienced any thermal throttling, though I wouldn't be surprised if you experienced it when running well above 100°c.
My IMC hasn't degraded to any noticeable degree yet, though I am definitely running the risk.

thanks for the reply, i think it runs the same clock but not too sure( i dont think anything will happen as it ran for 10seconds right?) because this happened while i was trying to see how far i can push it with daily voltages, but that happened. do u mean 1.5v die sense or socket sense, also does the dark have die sense ? previous darks didnt. i was also planning to hook it up with a diy chiller it has the capability to cool 2.5ton of heat(it has a R410A 1ton compressor). so i think it can go really low temps just for the cpu and the memory. Its going to be my daily chiller setup  so tryin to figure out what the the safe limit is. if the water(i mean glycol ) temps are -10 to -20c what do u think the safe limit is for all voltages? sorry for taking your time , i really appreciate the response. another question how high idle voltage is safe on ambient water cooling setup as some boards have the best transients with some droop. again thank your for your response

I don't think there would be a specific "safe limit" for voltage at that point, probably more worried about current or something. If I was in your situation, I wouldn't particularly care about longevity, since I'd find it likely I upgrade pretty frequently. I do hope you have some highly binned Samsung B-Die to run in this system.

i believe people who own the z590 dark gets a pcb to be used as a test bench. u can read the specs on the board using that.

The 24 access to new products and cases you can already buy online. They have the new motherboards on Newegg and best buy/Amazon.

I've seen the FTW boards on ebay, but that's not exactly "Newegg and best buy/Amazon" lol. These boards have only been available new on the EVGA store. If anyone has a link to show otherwise, go ahead and post it.

The copper looks beautiful and isn't just a small heatsinks to go "hey look copper heatsinks" those I feel would do the job very well.
