What on earth is up with this board, every time I go to install new version or try and uninstall the old version on this board the system freezes, ideas? Update: so I decided to reformat and reinstall OS, once I got booted in and the system settled I installed the 457.30 set and that went well, rebooted to windows no issues. So I decided to go to the most current, 457.51 and upon uninstalling, the system BSOD'd throwing CLOCK WATCHDOG Timeout, wth is that all about? I'm not sure about anyone else but I believe the 457.51 set for the 1080 Ti are bad, not sure about other variants e.g. 20 series etc. but every time I try and install them, BOOM BSOD! 457.30 are fine. Also of note for me, every time I try and install the SerialIO driver it freezes the system forcing a reset, am I missing something here? Another thing, I've installed about all I can think of, but I have one more "Unknown Device" under "Other Devices" for the life of me can't figure out what it is. Update: issues fixed, see here

I've done that since day one, always the most current from downloads (EVGA that is), drivers on the flash USB drive are always dated.

You can copy and paste the deviceID into google and find out what the unknown device is.

Thanks for that, so far haven't found it yet but I believe it's a USB driver issue... Anyhow wth am I missing, perhaps a driver but I can't install Nvidia drivers without freezing, total bs never has this issue before with an EVGA board no matter driver install order I followed

I’m actually checking my system over right now because I believe driver 457.51 is the issue of my freezing issue as well.

Nvidia or SerialIO? I may have stumbled onto something, I have an old mechanical 750g drive and my cd-rom, both work fine but are both attached to the Asmedia controller and via much searching the cd-rom being on that controller may be hanging things, still looking into it thanks Sajin for posting... oh btw I have 457.51 installed now but instead of my usual choice if custom install, driver only, no Geforce Exp yaddy yadda, I ran the installer as admin and chose express method with GF Exp and they installed.
