I cannot open ELEET X1 fully.  It keeps prompting me to update the firmware (For the RGB?) and when I try it starts and begins to update the firmware but after a minute, it says: "Firmware update failed.  Click Start to try again."  my BIOS is up to date on my Z490 Dark KINGPIN (1.06) and I have ELEET X1 version 1.02.  There is no way around the "Update Firmware" popup window and closing it just closes ELEET X1.

I have seen a couple of threads about ELEET X1 not working with the new Z490 boards.  I figured I should start my own since none of those threads has real resolution.  Some seem to indicate that it is a hardware issue with the mobo itself, and needs an RMA.  Others seem to imply that it may be a software issue fixed with a later release of ELEET X1.  Has there been any definitive answer to this?  Is there a way to fix it without RMA'ing the board that is now sitting beneath hard tubing?

I realize I can reach out to customer service but I thought I would check in here first.

This build has been a pain lately, with issues outside of EVGA: EKWB Loop Connect problems and the soldering just came apart on my EKWB Quantum Velocity CPU block's DRGB plug.  Right now I am stuck with 10 fans flashing blue every .5 seconds

Thanks for the advice rjohnson11 but just to update: The latest BIOS and update to ELeet X1 1.0.3 seems to have fixed whatever issue was there.

I can now get into and use ELeet X1.  It did still ask me to update the firmware for the RGB when I first launched the new version however it successfully did so this time.

I am now running into this issue on 1.0.4. Will do some troubleshooting and post if I find a good solution.

I would update BIOS before spending too much time trying to get that ancient one running.

Ah I thought you meant the BIOS version, my mistake.

Just got my Z490 Dark KP setup and ELEET X1 will not open, I just get the "Ring0 is not open" error. I also tried running the Kingpin daily profile 5.2ghz/4600mhz and the memory oc'd perfectly but the processor is locked at 3.7ghz. Any thoughts on why my 10900k will not boost? My cooling system is a custom loop with 420mm rad.

Did you update to the 1.09 bios yet? I updated to it earlier this week and it resolved my firmware issue. As for the OC profile, I would recommend to use those as a general guide / starting point and don't expect to take it verbatim as each chip in the silicon lottery is very different. Plus one component being unstable can cause stability issues with the rest.

I would reset CPU and RAM to auto and work on OC'ing them one at a time. Personally I start with CPU first. Given the wide range of results people are reporting for the 10900k, I would make 5.1 all core your first goal before trying for 5.2. For me, 5.1 is stable on this motherboard at 5.1 all core, 48 ring, 0 avx offset, 1.33 vcore, -25% droop, vccio 1.4, vsa 1.4. (you shouldn't need to set both vccio and vsa all the way to 1.4 for just that cpu overclock but I went ahead and did it since I knew I was going to OC my dual rank memory). Once I got that dialed in and stable, then I went onto memory. Then came back and worked on getting CPU up to 5.2.

Luumi has fantastic videos available for OC'ing this exact CPU on this exact motherboard. So I credit him entirely with my OC success this round. :)

Thanks for your help. I ended up doing a fresh install of windows, and it fixed the issue. I can now use ELEETx1 and the board works perfectly. I have an EK Cryo cooler coming in the mail, and we shall see if it will be compatable with this motherboard. I'm hoping it can give me another 100-200mhz. My system is now stable at 5.2 on all cores and the memory is running 4600. This motherboard is sick. I'm hooked on Luumi's content, lol. Great info in his videos.
