Curious what everyone thinks would be the best memory for the Z390. 3200 at cas 14 or better off going up to 4000 or higher and a cas of 19 or anywhere in between. Plan to overclock cpu. Right now the three most likely boards are the EVGA Dark, Asus Extreme and Asus Formula. Tis the Christmas season and there are some reasonable deals out there. Just not sure if I should put money on higher or highest speed or do more consideration for the latency. Not sure the relationship on overclocking these cpu's yet and if memory speed is forced to increase with cpu speed.

Corsair LL120 X 4, LL140 X 2, NOCTUA NF-f12 X 3, EK XE 480 and black ice 360 Radiators, Custom LED lights, PetG tubing.

Mutt Slayer look at this thread - https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2890343 Yes those 3200 C14 kits are the sweet spot but pretty much impossible to find a G.Skill quad channel kit. You can find 32gb 2 stick kits but 2 of those together are too much $ Look at the link above, look at some kits and do the math. Get anything that is at least calculates out to 200 Last Sunday night was helping a friend pick out parts for an X299 Dark build, memory was the hardest to find something in stock that hit all the check boxes

Well if the Dark one only needs the 2 sticks. I have been gathering parts for a new Z390 Dark build, and ordered the 32 GB (2x16) G Skill Trident Z 3200 MHz CL 14. I wrestled with this for days whether to get a higher MHz, and finally just decided to go with the 3200 ram.

Once your system is up and running bump the speed to 3600 and leave everything else alone, you might have to bump ram voltage to 1.375 - 1.4 for stability

yeah, I did the same, got the 3200. Don't think I'll be disappointed. ran all the figures and the 3200 cl14 was the best fit.

Some memory says for AMD boards. Why wouldn't these work on an Intel board? I had planned on 16GB. Does 32GB really have a need out there? Seems like a lot of Ram.

Probably depends on the programs/games you run. I have one combat flight sim that can use more that 16 GB in heavy situations.

Mutt Slayer I'm contemplating this Ram. I'd wanted the RGB option but it's not there. https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3600c15d-16gtz
If RGB is not a must have that is actually a pretty good kit The ones listed for AMD are setup for working with the Thread ripper CPU's. As to how well the programming on the memory stick works when put into an Intel system

That 3600 cl15 would be a bit better than 3200 cl14 if you use Bullzoids quick test.

I'm getting a Z390 FTW with a 9900k. I currently have 32Gb of G.Skill TridentZ 15CL memory (Model F4-3200C15D-32GTZ). I see it's not on the compatibility list, but is it still possible it'll work?

It is not just a matter of the board, it is a combination of the CPU, board and memory modules.
