I have two Z390 Dark motherboards. One of them has given me post code 55 a few times and just resetting the pc let me boot up each time. Now, the second just did it and wouldn’t restart without clearing cmos.

I understand this is normally an issue if you forgot to put the ram in or if you messed up overclocking the ram. The only overclock on the ram for each is the XMP settings. Both sets of ram are carryovers from previous motherboards and had no issues prior.

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this or if they might know of a reason / solution.

Thanks for any and all feedback in advance.

If your cpu heatsink is too tight it can also cause the 55 debug led code.

Thanks, I’ll try loosening the bracket a touch when I get home. The extra thick pcb on the mobo could certainly cause them to be tight.
