Hi guys, this is my first post here, I just signed up here
I'm having some issues with my system, haven't done any changes recently to my PC but suddenly this morning I was having issues booting up, I changed to bios2 and it was fine, but then I went to bios 1 to see if I could fix it but no luck, then I tried going back to bios2 the same thing happened as with bios1, I get FF error code right away and nothing happens, no beeps, no could fan movement, nothing just FF straight up.
I disassembled the PC and tried one ram only, different slots and nothing, tried the CMOS button many maaaany times and I get the same FF error code. The manual says FF = reserved for future AMI error codes. Please help me, I put so much effort and all my savings in this computer and now I can't even turn it on
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this if you do

Welcome to the Forum But with this "I changed to bios2 and it was fine" it would seem your Bios 1 is corrupt. Boot into the Bios on Bios 2 and then change back to Bios 1 and Re-Flash it. All your Power Cables Connected and Locked in? 8-Pin EPS/CPU & 24-Pin Cables and locked on both ends MB and PSU.

All cables are plugged in properly, I've reseated them many times now, bios 1 and 2 are doing the same, all I get is an instant FF error code, I've taken the processor out and placed it back carefully. I don't know what else to do, every time I press the reset CMOS button I get C then FF right away

So then Bios 2 never worked? Did you look to see if you bent any CPU Socket Pins? Do you have another Power Supply to Test with?

Test your CMOS Battery it may be in the need to be replaced. Sounds like you need to replace your Power Supply.

That is fine that it worked on another MB but it could still mean that it is not working on your MB. I have PSU like the 1300 G2 that will work on some Motherboards but not others. Your 500 bq is a little small for your setup. Did you check to make sure the Pins are pushed in all the way on the Connectors and on both ends of the Cable. I still thing you need to test with a different Power Supply at least a 650 Gold

This setup has been working fine for about 7 months now, what could possibly be the issue with the PSU if it has been running fine all these months?

Bent CPU Socket Pins Bad CPU Bad Memory Bad Power Supply Parts do fail. Are you using a UPS Unit or at least an good Surge Protector. A Power Strip is not the same as a Surge Protector.

I am using an UPS, tried the wall outlet directly and it's the same. No bent pins, I didn't remove the CPU until I had to for testing purposes.
BTW, before it was staying at FF steadily, now it shows FF and turns off right away

What CPU Cooler are you using? Maybe it stopped working. Or maybe need to replace the Thermal Paste. I will add that to my list, thanks

I've been using the stock cooler all this time, I tried another one of those Intel stock coolers and it's the same. For real man I've tried everything I could, at this point I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do to reflash the bios or something, anything... I don't understand why they gone corrupt if I didn't really do anything rather than just changing from one bios to the other.
Anyways thank you so much for all your time, I just hope there is something that can be done from my end to fix this, as buying new components it's really a big no for me right now.

Without testing with another Power Supply all you can to is Request an RMA by starting with creating a Service Ticket on your Motherboard.

I did, tried the wall outlet directly, also a power strip. It's still the same, I let it overnight with everything unplugged I'm going to put everything together now and see what happens.

Turn Off XMP for RAM if it is On Set BIOS to Default ..... reboot & add setting you need like drives Check that the MB back Case shield (port cover) - does Not have any tabs - (metal ground fingers) - poking into any of the USB Ports on back of MB [Still Not Working] Unplug ALL connections to the Case & test (USB, Power, reset .....) use the MB start button ---> Remember to turn Windows 10 Fast Startup OFF, when upgrading drivers, firmware or hardware Windows Central - How to disable Windows 10 fast startup (and why you'd want to)

I have the mobo out of the case on top of the mobo box, I unplugged everything, removed the CMOS battery, removed the CPU from the mobo, let it sit for about 15mins, then placed the CMOS battery in the mobo, put the CPU back, then CPU cooler, put the ram and all the other components as gpu and boot hdd, still getting the same, straight FF code on both BIOS

Do you have another CPU to test with? I still think you should test with another Power Supply.

I don't have another CPU or PSU, I may be able to test my CPU in another computer at the office but I'm not sure I can do that yet.

If you can test your CPU in another Computer then you can take that other CPU and test on your Motherboard. It will do no good to RMA your Motherboard if your Power Supply will no longer power it. Take your computer to Best Buy and have them look at it.

Try basic necessities first. - CPU (Did you check for bend socket pins?) - MB (Everything needs to be run on default/stock.) - 1 Stick of RAM (Make sure which slot that one stick goes into). If that don't work, try the other stick. If both don't work, try using memtest to see if the stick(s) are bad. - PSU - OS Drive That's it and go from there.

No bent pins, everything is on default/stock on the mb, used only one stick in the right sicket, tried both sticks actually one at the time, how can I use memtest without getting into the bios? I'm gonna buy another PSU and see if that helps

Just noticed that you also sent us an email that you were directed to do so by our EVGA Support twitter account. Try testing the CPU in another system or another CPU with your system. Let us know your finding by responding the email from SMsupport@evga.com

Guys, I bought another processor and that was the issue, tried mine in another system and that didn't work so I bought another one and hoped for the best, it worked!
btw my board booted up no issues with bios 1.06 using an i5 9400F which is odd.
Anyway just wanted to thank you all for all your suggestions

Man I was so afraid this motherboard was dead because I really like it and for the price I got it is just impossible to get it again. I wasn't so sure about the processor being dead, I've have had many different processors and not a single one ever failed but this i3 8100 died after like 7 months of use so that's a first time for me.
