I just got a Z270 FTW K and noticed the southbridge heatsink was loose in that you could rotate it a little bit by turning it with your fingers.  I tightened the two screws underneath the motherboard that hold the heatsink down.  This helped somewhat, but the heatsink is still a little bit loose and I'm afraid to tighten the screws any more because I don't want to damage anything.  Is this normal for this motherboard?  If so it seems like a cheap design, but I guess as long as it keeps the southbridge cool it's doing its job.

It's not designed to be super tight.  Quit trying to move it around with your fingers; and then there will be no problem.  It's a relatively large surface held on by only two screws towards the center; and with the leverage and flexibility of the board, it will easily teeter.

I used a screw driver on mine, not a big deal to put a turn or two on the screws on the back side.

should not be loose enough to move, not sure if evga uses just a paste or themal tape for the TIM
