Just got a brand new XC3 Ultra 3080 and I have noticed that lines and bars are flickering while playing games. this happened in far cry new dawn and in the witcher 3. Anyone know what could be causing this? Do I have to RMA it? or just bad drivers?

I would assume to update drivers if you haven't already. If this is happening in both games the only other option is trying a different Drive with Windows 10 on it and try playing again.. alternatively I'd also try in another system completely if you could and if it happens again, you can almost certainly assume it's the GPU having issues. Hopefully you've also got an up to spec power supply for running that card.

Yes I actually have an EVGA 850w power supply. I had an rtx 2070 in this machine before and it worked just fine.

Could be bad drivers, card may not be fully seated in the PCI slot (doubt it but you never know) could be bad monitor port (try a different one if you are using DisplayPort), also make sure you have a single PCI cable for each power connector, not the single cable PCI connectors that have 2 - 8pin connectors (or 8 and a 6+2) that split on it.

If you try reinstalling the drivers route look up DisplayDriverUninstaller or google DDU and use it in safe mode. If you have another GPU, or PSU of some kind you can see if either of those may be the issues by switching them out. But since you said you didn't have these issues prior with your 2070, I'm not sure it's your PSU, but it could be a possibility still.

I will either find a way, or make one.

Maybe that's it. I have one 8 pin cable with 2 connections on it that I plugged in.

I hope the FTW3 doesn't require 3 separate connectors to work properly.. Just adding another for the 3rd connector and using 2 on one of them is going to be tight as hell. Don't have any space for 3 full super thick power cables.  In fact I don't think I have enough places to plug 2 more into the power supply.

Then again I don't plan on doing any spectacular overclocking either.

Found the issue, apparently one puny connector isn't enough for ampere. I had daisy chained one connectors pins together. You need two dedicated connectors. I thought that was only for the FE. That explains why they used the 12 pin connector.

Could it be the new nvidia drivers or maybe the overlays?

Try using ddu to delete new drivers and install new ones

For sure, They had already told people that you would need 2 separate connectors. Glad you got it working!
