XR1 Lite firmware

Is the firmware update-able? Is/will there be firmware updates?
For 2 days the xr1 lite worked ok , now it only flashes purple indicating its in usb 2.0 mode. Its connected to a usb 3.0 port. Ive tried other usb 3.0 ports. Ive tried using my phones usb c cable. I can only get it to flash purple and I have to reboot computer everytime just to get it to capture in obs and still it only flashes purple.
Does this thing need a powered usb 3.0 hub?

    The XR1 lite doesn't require a powered hub but it is best to plug it directly to the motherboard's USB 3.0 ports and avoid any type of external hub or front panel USB ports from your case. There has not been any firmware updates for the XR1 Lite.
