Why has EVGA stopped selling the X99 motherboards?
I had a guy at work that wanted me to build him a system with a X99 Classified motherboard and he is not interested in the X299.
Also,  if for some reason my X99 motherboards (I have 2, Classified and FTW K) die (and I don't think they will) what will they replace them with?

They are EOL since X299 has been out awhile.

They will replace them with the same model X99 board that they keep on hand just for that reason. And if they run out they will give you an equivalent X299 board (yes, we all know that you can't use the same CPU - but it's better than nothing).

Well, that means I'll have to buy it elsewhere because I just bought a $1650 CPU (10 core) last year.
    BTW, what is EOL?

Which CPU was that?  Assuming its the same 2011-v3 socket that would work with the X99 series.
