First and foremost, update to the latest motherboard BIOS which is 2.06 that will "Update CPU Microcode to resolve Broadwell-E CPU OC failures with Win10 RS5(1809)" if you have not already done so..I think you might have an older BIOS and you need to update it.

Weird..On EVGA Download Center page I'm seeing that 2.06 is the latest for the X99 Micro2 and 2.07 only for the X99 Classified.

People with Broadwell-E really have problems to OC their processors.
I read on ROG Forums guys are angry, what to do with RVE10 and i7-6900K and i7-6950X who work on 3.5 GHz.
That's so bad situation... no word. Really MS and Intel don't care what happen to their customers, only think about last generation.

Windows Update KB4100347 (for the Spectre and Meltdown security vulnerabilities) breaks overclocking on some processors..You can search about that, but I think the latest BIOS update might solve that problem.

Just to confirm folks, the latest BIOS http://cdn.evga.com/BIOS/.9/E095_flashtool_206.zip  (specifically for this board) for the EVGA X99 models contain the latest microcode from intel. The BIOS will restore normal overclocking functionality and I can also confirm that it still works properly on the latest Win 10 FAST RING version. I periodically check to see if a new one (microcode) is on the horizon so I can proactively pester EVGA again if necessary.

The version numbering isn't the same for the board models. Your board was released later and has had few BIOS revisions. If there's another microcode update needed, you would be incremented to 2.07 and the Classified to 2.08 and so on.. until they stop providing them.
