mmuthiah I noticed one thing in bios, 1. If i disable Intel Sata Raid , all the sata ports (disks) are disabled, but when i switch back to Raid again, all disks underneath that raid still remain disable (that should be enabled automatically). 2. If i power-off (unplug) and restart, all my bios setting are gone, i have load from my saved profile? Anyone notice this?
I've read about the bios losing all the settings on here. Don't recall if anyone has tried to replace the battery on the board. If the battery goes dead, the bios will boot with defaults every time. Try replacing it.
I didn't see that happening yesterday. It came up fine with bios that i saved.

I feel cheated. I wanted a stable overclockable platform that I could game and perform work on. I can't game because it will blue screen mid match letting my team down. I can't work because it will blue screen and I will lose work efficiency costing my boss and myself money. If it didn't blue screen at least once every 8 hours I would recommend it. Until blue screens, XMP, 4.5Ghz at mild voltage and the bios holds a config after being powered down I cannot recommend anyone buy this board over a competitor board. They have fixed things since release, this is important to note. My experience now is better than 3 months ago, they are working on it, it is just really slow. That being said, I will never trust a EVGA mobo again, I've given them the benefit of the doubt twice and they have let me down twice. I will still only buy EVGA gpus, I have never ever had a sub-par EVGA gpu, they are world class in that area and will continue to dominate there. I also love my EVGA Killer Xeno, I happen to one of the lucky ones and mine actually works.

Sounds like you need to do some more stress testing on it. You may be undervolting the cpu for 4.5ghz. Start up a thread with your issues and specs and people will help you out on these boards. Ditto What CPU are you trying to OC to 4.5Ghz and why do you blame the Dark motherboard for your instability? I run 4.5Ghz on 3920K with no issues at all and at low voltages, but that is a quad core processor and as with all CPU's I could just be lucky! It is the job of the person building and overclocking the system to find the sweet spot for their individual CPU/RAM & Motherboard combo and unless you can actually demonstrate that your individual CPU will overclock 100% stable to 4.5Ghz on another X79 board, then it probably isn't the board that is at fault and maybe the sweet spot for your CPU is 4.3Gz or 4.4Ghz etc...... I would not count on it, especially if you are overclocking. Pretty sure that is in the request of features from the forum , for future bios updates. I have not seen where EVGA has stated it can be done however. It certainly would be nice to hear an official statement from then on sleep and this board. I went ahead and ordered mine knowing this, while I would love the ability to sleep it, it is not a deal breaker for me at least.

Well, while there is a lot I like, gremlins keep popping up it seems. I cannot load UEFI video bios - EVGA says it's the board and I would have to RMA.... pfft Now all of a sudden my boot up beep is almost dead. Not sure if its the speaker itself or what, but odd. OC can be great, but it will stop working out of nowhere after weeks. Clearing cmos and resetting settings fixes it. This happened twice, but has now been fine. Just far more quirky then my trusty x58. That being said I was on the defective PSU list, while I doubt it was the cause of any instability, I am giving this new one a shot to see if it is any different. I hope updated BIOS fix this, but going by recent track records.....

I feel like EVGA is abandoning this board. No bios update or any news about what is being worked on next. So much for the "great" customer service.

EVGA_JacobF Most of that should be fixed on the latest BIOS update. We will have a new release soon that will fix some more items as well.

I don't see it that way at all: 1: These boards are continually selling out based on what I see - why would they abandon them? 2: They have already made some great improvements based on what I have read with bios updates, and as linked above Jacob is already talking about things being fixed in the next bios update. Really looking forward to putting my new rig together here in about a week. I myself would not have invested all the money I have on a new X79 Dark build if I felt they were being abandoned. Time will tell I guess.

I am not currently running an overclock in search of stability and for the past four days (three days at work, one gaming) I have only had one BSOD. I am going to turn on XMP and clock to 4Ghz without overvolting to see if this is an improvement. I just disappointed guys, that's all.
