So this may not be what you wanna hear but if the workaround ends up not working there's always getting a used/refurb motherboard that has a TPM. Asus made boards that generation with a TPM and I've had mixed success finding PCIE ones online but not a lot of data exists about compatibility so it may not even work. My old Z390 and X99 motherboards had removable TPM's which was handy but if your motherboard doesn't have the header for it one of the first 2 options may be your best bet if the workaround fails.
