Recently I got a good deal on a X58 motherboard to use with a i7 960 I already have. I was looking for DDR3 memory online and came across people who have got 48GB of ram to work in a X58 motherboard. Has any one got this to work on a X58 FTW3? If so what brand and model # are compatible.

    As far as ive pushes my old classi 4-way, 4x4gb in dual channel. It didnt really like 4gb modules running triple. The xeon i had didnt care much running dual channel tho.
    Its a bit a case of ‘luck of the draw’ with the IMC’s if you ask me.

    Used to run 24GB triple channel in the 4 way sli had no dramas 6 x 4gb dimms
