X58 E760 Bios 83 - HDD 8TB compatibility ?

Hi, I recently bought an Seagate Skyhawk 8TB, but the disk management does not see the harddisk. I have initialized the Disk management to GPT, and bios 83 with all latest drivers is installed. Sata is set to AHCI, JBM363 to RAID, and JBM362 to AHCI.
I have swapped between the two Sata ports of JBM362, but nothing, the harddisk ist not visible neither in the Bios (!), nor in windows 7 (64bit, SP1)...

Somebody else had this issue ?

Greetings.

Did you configure it with GPT?  Other wise you could make it be 4 different 2GB partitions.

By this info the help here would need to know your OS and how you are partitioning as IMO you cannot do UEFI.

those jmicron ports are wonky, i disabled mine since they were causing random crashes. have you tried the intel sata ports? if you want the fastest speed get a pcie add in sata 3 card, you probably wont be able to boot since the bios has issues with any thing over 2TB

With GPS you should be able to create at least one partition about 4TB. Look at this old post here I answered back in 2014: https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2206692

I agree with you. Those jmicron ports were terrible. I only used them for backup drives.
