X58 Classified RAM question

Hi all,
 
Just bought a Classified X58 motherboard SLI Micro  I have an Intel Xeon 5650 for it. My question is RAM. Will Registered ECC RAM work on this motherboard?

    Will the x58 classified work with ecc ram? Yes, but you need a compatible xeon cpu.
     
    Will the x58 classified work with a xeon 5650? No.
     
    Pickup a xeon 5590 and you'll be straight.

    I have had several x58 boards, Asus and EVGA, I could not get registered EEC to work with my x5660, x5650 CPUx
    Been told regular EEC non registered will work, never bothered to buy it to test it

     Life is too short to carry a cheap pocket knife

    But the w5590 is a quad core, kind of defeats the purpose of getting a cheap xeon. 
    The x56 50, 60, 70.... are hexcores, and he has one.
    The memory he used is Samsung  M393B5273CH0-YH9 is is 2x8, that may have something to do with it? Not sure.
    I can't test for him, I sold off all my x58 boards except a dual server.
     
    Not sure what the OP wants to do, does he want to keep a hexcore, since he has one?
    Or does he just want to get cheap server ram off ebay and can wants a quad core?
