which slots do my 2 ram sticks go in for 109080xe ?
Ive tried 2 and 4 as well as 1 and 2 but the fastest I can get the ram is 4200 , cl 14 @ 1.6v which is slow for my ram.
Thanks

ermmm this is a quad channel board.... so you need 4 sticks of ram... for quad channel... if only 2 sticks which i dont get why specially sporting a 10980xe cpu so i said budget is not an issue...

the most you can get with 4 sticks is 4000 and 4200 if you lucky.

I use 2 sticks in dual channel.
Also have done , always will.

4200 MT/s is the limit on Cascade Lake-X. Most CPUs will do only 4000, which requires an Uncore Offset of ~300 mV. Each of the RAM slots are directly connected to the CPU, so I don't think there is any benefit to running 2 sticks over 4.

that and 2 sticks wouldnt be able to give you this type of performance anyway...

At the moment I am using BIOS 1.19 and recently I upgraded my memory, bought a set with a frequency of 4133 MHz, but there are only two intermediate variants in BIOS 4000 and then 4200, obviously 4133 is needed. Do the new versions have this setting? I'm just planning to update the BIOS to 1.23 version. I understand that I can raise the FSB frequency, but I would like to see such a preset in BIOS.

Do any of the owners of this Dark motherboard use memory above 4000 MHz 24/7?

no luck in my case  (with Patriot 4400 MHz b-die). But i have a 7800x, which if i remember is a bit more finicky in terms of memory oc.
    - With two sticks it doesn't boot with either set of xmp settings (4400 & 4133 iirc), but I could get a max of 4000 MHz with some tuning.
    - I've certainly never been able to achieve >=4000 MHz with all 4 slots populated.

Now I've update on 1.23 with G.SKILL 2x TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4133 (B-DIE) Model F4-4133C19D-16GTZSWC and don't see 4133 preset in BIOS, 4000 next 4200, need to test my memory on 4200 Mhz. OS it is possible to load on such frequency. It tests not fully stable, I'll try to find out why.

hah, zGunBLADEz, you have definitely made me want to spend more time on my memory overclock... that is amazing.
