So my Intel 900P optane SSD (X4 PCIE card)keeps disappearing on reboot now. I suspect the motherboard because I did have the Intel software installed that showed it at 100% health. I've moved sockets, and removed one of my video cards, set motherboard settings to default, etc. Still, 90% of the time the SSD just isn't seen in the motherboard in the EVGA BIOS settings.

I will try it in a different computer when I get the chance, but anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: When it is there, the computer boots and runs fine until the next restart.

Hmm, after I removed the primary video card I'm seeing a code 43 on my secondary - that may be causing the SSD to disappear? Will put the primary back in when I get a chance, and take out the other.

that may be causing the SSD to disappear?

    Wouldn't think so, but maybe.

Apparently, all of a sudden, I can't use CSM for my Adaptec 8805 RAID card? I turn off CSM and Windows loads every time. The RAID card still works, I just can't see the status of the drives/open the config on boot.

The 900P still doesn't show as being in the top socket (in BIOS that slot is blank). So, maybe an ill-fated Windows update and the OH SO WONDERFUL UEFI that Windows is allowed to write to.

What? EVGA, what have you done to the X299 FTW BIOS with these new 10xxx X processors? M$, why do you hate gamers so much?

    Edit: Windows 10 x64 1909.

Oooooof. Now I'm having random USB disconnects. Sometimes just my KB/mouse (on an extension so both are same port), and sometime those plus my wireless headset.

Moving to a different port, and changing the wireless headset didn't help. Although it seems like it's happening less often.

Dang. Sounds like the motherboard is going crazy.

Are there any motherboard voltages that can mess with the USB like that? Everything is at stock/auto voltage except for the RAM (has to run at 1.4V now, even at JDEC 2133MHz) and the CPU's VCore at 1.19V.

I did try and clear the CMOS, and with the wireless headset swap it *appears* that the fairly consistent UBS disconnect and reconnects have stopped (for now).

Pch voltage would affect the usb ports. No sure if your motherboard bios has that voltage though.

So, everything is stable and working at my old settings - except for the boot loader. It cannot work with CSM on and storage set to legacy, even though that's how Windows was installed and how it worked since installing this X299 FTW K. I can set CSM on and set storage to UEFI, and I can set CSM off completely - and everything loads fine (other than the fact that I can't see my Adaptec 8805 drive discovery or get into it for configuration purposes).

I'm not sure what M$ did, but they definitely changed how things interact and they did it by touching the UEFI settings on my motherboard. Huge UGH.
