Hi,
I just bought an AIO for my CPU and I found a 3-Pin connector on the pump. I saw in the documentation that I have to connect the 3-Pin cable on my motherboards pump header. Unfortunately the Dark X299 hasn't such a connection. Can I use one of the fan headers and if yes, in which way can I control my pump? Do I have to be careful because of ampere / voltage?

Thanks.

    You can use a fan header for the pump. No problem with amps and volts.
    To control the 3-pin pump, it might work if you set the header on DC.

    Before connecting the pump, make sure that it does not exceed 2 amps @ 12v which is safe for all available fan headers on this board.

    Most if not all AIO CPU Coolers only use the CPU Fan Header for the RPM of the Pump and have a separate SATA Power Cable or Old School 4-Pin Molex Power Cable to Power the Pump.
    If using an Alphacool Eisbaer 360 CPU Water Cooler** then it is power by the CPU Fan header and I have been using one for almost a year now on my X299 Dark.
    At the same time the CPU Fan Header should be set to 100% and use the Software that comes with the unit to set the Pump Speed.
    The CPU Fan Header is a 3-Pin or 4-Pin Connector.

    It would also help to post what the Make and Model of this AIO CPU Cooler is......

    ** Pump (Alphacool DC-LT 2600 Ultra low noise Ceramic)
    • Speed: 2600 RPM
    • Voltage: 7-13.5V DC
    • Power consumption: 4W
    • Maximum flow rate: 70L/h
    • Maximum head: 0.85m

    @all
    Thanks for your feedback.
    AIO = Thermalright TURBO RIGHT 360 C
    The AIO has only a 3-Pin connector - no SATA/MOLEX power.

    So I have to set the connector to DC and 100%? Hopefully Thermalright has a software for managing the pump speed...

    Any CPU fan header will do for that AIO.

    As for the header settings, to avoid any possible conflicts with we do recommend setting the fan speed to 100% manually in the BIOS and then you can configure the speed using the manufacturer's software.

    ... and if no software is available from the manufacturer? Actually I found no software for download and no information in the manual :-(

    Then with no software you should set the CPU Fan Header to 100%

    Not much help from their website as far as the Pump and what the Wattage is for it.

    Yes, you're right. I sent a mail and asked for a software...

    I just checked their website http://www.thermalright.com/product/turbo-right-360-c/

    I think it's very odd to have an RGB AIO with PWM fans but not have any software to control the fan speed or the LEDs within Windows

    A remote is included for managing the LEDs... but nothing for the fans.

    I'm curious to know what that plug with the red and black cable coming out of it is for?

    No mention of it in the installation guide

    You can refill the water cycle :-). Also a remote (next to the plug with red/black cable) is included - to configure the LEDs (if you have no mainboard with a LED header).

    BTW - a splitter cable for the PWM fans is also not included... really strange!
