Edit: I decided to play with LOD options... seems that my particular mouse pad's black area needs the LOD distance set to the highest setting. Didn't expect this, I guess info for anybody that needs it.

[Original post follows]
Good day.
I recently switched to an x20 mouse and have discovered an issue I did not expect.
The mouse reliably stops tracking on the black portions of my mouse pad  (Corsair MM150 Ultra-Thin Gaming Mouse Pad). As best I can tell, it tracks well on the light grey portions.
It also will not track on the black arm rest of my aging office chair.

This really surprised me given that the mass majority of modern gaming mice are optical, and as well most gaming mouse pads are entirely black.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Hoping for any insight, suggestions or possible remedies there might be.

Thanks for reading.

Time to replace the mouse pad.
In seriousness have you tried recalibrating? when doing so make sure to move the mouse across the entire surface either in figure 8 or zigzag. Make sure you do it in a consistent speed covering the entire surface. I've never had issues with either the x17 or x20 on a back or light colored mouse pad.

But, I like my mouse pad. :'(

Thank you for the post, James.

I tried looking over the Unleashed software and wasn't able to see an option for "recalibrating." Did I overlook it by chance?
How would I go about starting the re-calibration?

That is a new one for me. I have a black mouse pad and my X20 tracks fine. When I first saw this post I was expecting it to be something like a black glass desk or something like that and a mouse pad would be the answer.

I would be making sure nothing is over the sensor on the bottom and then checking to see (if it's an option) if bluetooth works better then the 2.4ghz band.

To recalibrate you would just delete your old surface and add a new one

We're working on an update. If you have another system running windows 10 you can adjust your settings and save them to the mouse.

    Re-calibration worked marvelously!
I moved the mouse around in figure eight like patterns making sure to go over the dark / black portions of my mouse pad.

    Thank you very much.
