AnsweredX15 - No settings being saved?

Hello!
I just received my x15 a couple weeks ago, was very excited.
Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but using the Unleash RGB software on Windows 10, no changes I make to any profile for DPI, Key Assignments, or Macros, persist after a PC restart.  I am definitely hitting Apply (many times).  The settings changes work fine, with the Unleash software open, or closed, or minimized, until the pc restart when everything reverts to default.  
I've read the settings are supposed to be saved inside the mouse as opposed to on the pc.  Is there something that would cause this saving process to fail, or anyway to verify if the settings are attempting to be saved?
I am using Unleash v1.0.11, Firmware Version v1.28.
Wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

    The settings should save to the mouse. Unleash does not need to be running in the background for any of the mouse settings. If they revert back to default after rebooting your system I would suggest testing the mouse in different USB ports. Also make sure that you are on the correct profile. If you didn't make any changes to the other profiles those will have all the same default settings

    Thanks!  Changing to a different USB port type solved it.
    Was not saving settings connected to either of the two USB 3.2 Gen1 5Gbps Type-A ports on the x570 Tomahawk back panel, but does work in the USB 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps Type-A ports on the back panel.

    Sorry for this possible Necroing but couldn't find anything else.
     
    I have 3 profiles for my X17 Mouse and everytime there is an update and/or firmware update I lose my 3 profiles and I have to remember what I had on them and change colors... why?
     
    How hard can it be to save the same profiles or, do us a favor and remind us that the software is not good enough and we will lose our profiles so we just DON'T update?
     
    I'm old and it blows to have to redo this every time.
     
    Don't mind the setup that shows in my specs, that has to be older than when the seas were open.
