Hi, I have a 2080Ti FTW3 ultra card (just bought) and X1 1.0.2.0 (I believe this is the first version of X1 I have ever used)
On the top right of the main screen is a "Target" area, that has two sliders, Power, and GPU temp.

I've "unlinked" the two and set power to 100 and GPU temp to 75 then saved the profile.

When exit and then restart X1 it restores the 75 degree temp, but the power is reduced to 68 and the chain link is 'linked'

Can this be fixed?

    1) Select a Profile Number 0-9
    2) Make Change (edit)
    3) push the "Enter Key" on your KB
    4) Apply Button
    5) Save Button

Hi, I am doing exactly what you said:
    Select profile (1)
    Make changes (2-4)
    Hit enter
    Hit apply (5)
    Hit Save (6)
Now exit (7) and re-launch X1 and settings are not fully restored

After relaunching and loading profile 0 (just in case it's not the default)
Notice that item (2)'s state was not saved/recalled and item (3) Power is not restored.

    What Happens If :

    1) You do the steps for Each change [do not group changes - RE: "Make changes (2-4)]

    2) You leave X1 running & then reboot ?

Also check this:  Issues with X1 operation - you may Need to "Allow an App through Controlled folder access"

I first noticed it with a reboot, when you hit apply and leave it alone it'll stay 'unchained' for as long as the app is running.

I'll check that controlled folder access link - I saw you just posted that, and wondered if that might be related to a recent windows update. The other settings do save unfortunately, which shows the software is able to write files as needed, it's likely a bug.

Is X1 open source? If so I might be able to review the save/load logic and see if it's an easy fix.

I reported this bug several months ago, which also occurs if you have two GPUs in the system. I made a video demonstrating the bug, and shared it with EVGA. No idea if they are planning to fix it. No communication from them after initial contact.

What happens if you - "exit and then restart X1" --> does the change "stay"

Make and Apply all your custom changes first..Then left-click on a Profile number..Then click Save..Works for me, flawlessly, each and every time.

Right-clicking on a Profile number, accidently or otherwise, deletes that profile without warning.

Linking (Chained)/Unlinking (Unchained) Targets (Power/Temp) can't be applied to separate/individial profiles.

When Targets are Unlinked, they will always revert to being Linked (the default setting) again upon Precision startup, but the Power and Temp won't really be linked; the link button will just show they are Linked but the values are not Linked as they would be if you moved the sliders while they are Linked, the Power/Temp values should remain at whatever you made them while Unlinked.

This is how it works for me, no problemo, none, zero.

That's definitely not what I'm seeing on two different machines with three different GPUs.

Having the same issue with locked fan profile, with aggressive set. Been that way for months. I had the Power target issue up till about 2 versions ago.

same issue here. I want to raise temp limit but leave power at 100. When I exit and restart though, they are chained again and maxed out.

I think you might find it's just a detection and reporting bug in the Power and Temp Target settings.

Grab MSI Afterburner to cross-check it..Don't make any changes in Afterburner, just use is to see what the Power and Temp Targets show..Whatever Afterburner shows they are is what they probably really are, even if Precision shows differently.

I suppose one could grab GPU-Z (Sensors tab) or GPU Shark (in Detailed mode) and run MSI Kombustor to check the actual stress testing validity of what's being reported between in Precision vs Afterburner.

PX1 developers might find doing that useful too *wink wink*.

i dont think it's a detection bug. I found this problem while gaming, I heard the fans ramp up to max which should not happen as I've set power target to 70. I went into precision and sure enough, the settings had reverted to default.

This is a basic, fundamental ability of any software: to retain saved settings. I'm flabbergasted this problem exists with this software and it doesn't seem new either. I recall having this issue with it over many versions. I'm a developer myself and I cannot for the life of me understand why this is so difficult. Save settings in some xml somewhere and read upon load. How is this difficult?

EVGA you need to fix this asap. This is ridiculous. I do not want to install some other software i want to use the software for the card I paid 1200 bucks for.

correction, it might be as now it says 100 but when I use gpu-z i can see max is 70. So yes precision says 100 but it's using the setting of 70 which i set it to previously.

I ditched precision and installed afterburner. Exactly zero problems now. Still an EVGA fan, but precision leaves a lot to be desired.

Just got a 3080 and it looks like this problem STILL exists. I am sorry but this is pathetic, this issue goes back years, in fact its been present since X1 was released. The XOC version did not have this issue, seriously EVGA? I am going to just use Afterburner myself. These companies more worried about RGB lighting controls  then basic functionality.
