Owning a handful of AMD cards still that would be a no... AMD handles drivers, and once a card is no longer the latest and greatest. Drivers they sort of get forgotten and you need applications like Rivatuner to stop the downclocking, clock blocker, and sadly Radeon Pro has not been updated since the Fury cards. The pcie slots turning off, the cards downclocking and undervolting to the point the display turns off or looks like vram corruption is not fun. Used one of my AMD backup cards during my step-up, it was not fun.

As for intel if they cannot make something way faster than my 3090 TI probably not.

It would depend on GPU performance compared to Nvidia offerings.

I don't know if AMD can 'smash' NVIDIA but their performance has come close in the past. Intel will need another year or two before they have a competitive high end video card.

Another point of contention is price. How will AMD price their next gen cards compared to NVIDIA?

I wouldn't mind a slightly slower-than-the-best card if EVGA made it. I put significant value on their customer support and warranty experience. Just thinking about my nvidia alternatives has me cringing already. I've had nightmare RMAs with MSI and ASUS.

There are too many variables for me to take a side one way or another.  I'd need to see an actual product before I could begin to make that determination.

Depends. Buying a GPU is a complex decision. But pure performance is not my only criteria, I want 5 years or greater warranty support given the sheer cost of high-end GPUs. If EVGA continued its extended warranty program with Intel Arc or AMD Radeons then I would put them on my shortlist regardless of which GPU had the best performance.

    No way!
I just spent 800$ plus on a G-Sync monitor and was going to buy the RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra
Now I’m not sure if I should as I would also want an extended warranty with the gpu

    Confused and sad here

The problems with Intel and AMD isn't the hardware.
The software stack for the video cards is where the brand just falls down.

Might I EVENTUALLY buy the product of such a team-up?

As always, it's a definite "Maybe"

No. I wouldn't. AMD GPU's can die in a fire...Intel is garbage (at this point).

If Intel got as good as the nvidia cards, I MIGHT consider it.

Not a chance because I also use my GPU for AI and deep learning, and NVIDIA has like 95% of the software support.

AMD: depends on how good 7000 series is.
Intel: personally, not for a generation or two, but if they came out with some affordable mid-level cards I'd fully support others buying them. If the Intel GPUs get to where they're competitive at the high end, absolutely.

All of these people that say AMD sucks or there drivers suck probably haven't given the 6000 series cards a fair shake.  Having owned a 3060 ti, 3070, 3070 ti, 3080, 3080 ti and an AMD 6700xt.  The 6700 performs pretty similarly to the 3070 ti maybe a few more fps with ray tracing off of course.  When the 6700 first came out it had a few little driver issues with games but they were quickly fixed.  Those who say AMD does not update drivers are thinking of old AMD because they currently still issue new drivers regularly for the 500 series cards up. While I mostly own Nvidia cards I would be happy to purchase an RDNA 3 card if it performs.

If AMD and EVGA teamed up and drivers are solid, 100% yes I'm in and in on a AMD mobo as well. Hoping EVGA comes out with a nice mobo for the new Ryzen mobo's, that may get me in on that as well.

    Yes.  Period.

As Kougar suggests, price and performance, if within reasonable distance of competitors, do NOT trump warranty and customer service. 5 year warranty is really a minimum for anything with 4 digits in the price before the decimal point.

I would be interested in it.

Part of the reason why I would honestly consider it is PS5 and Xbox are using AMD GPU and that is pretty major to what technology the vast majority of games are going to use. One of NIVIDA weaknesses has always been not going open source until technology is irrelevant. That isn’t to say ray tracing isn’t important or that GPU AI super sampling isn’t important it’s just saying but instead the AMD way that works for those on consoles is going to be more likely supported by any port and if it’s open source and works on NVIDIA also then supporting RTX or DLSS is a nice afterthought but might not happen.

As for Intel they are new to the market and I really want them to do good and the company can easily fund a GPU division that could develop amazing cards. I would totally buy an Intel card if they really seem committed and focused on listening to gamers. I just need to kind of feel that Intel is going to not be the suit and tie company that is willing to make a gamers department of the company and really teaming up with EVGA would help that image shift. Of course I felt the same way about Microsoft when the company known for Windows and Office announced they were making a console after they pretty much moved away from releasing PC games at the time.

never not for a long time last AMD card I had was 9800 Radeon, it would be nice to see good competition, but until that happens I only go with nvidia.  I like EVGA as a company and my first choice for nvidia cards but when it comes down to it in the end I will just buy whatever is available from whoever.

If EVGA made product for another GPU MFG I would look at it and consider it.  I'm not going to buy based solely on EVGAs move but if they felt the need to change GPU vendors and felt they were able to make a great product out of it I would definitely be paying attention.

To the complaint about AMD drivers.  EVGA was making their own GPU drivers as well.  Back in the day ATI had great hardware but terrible drivers, if they could have gotten them fixed they would have beaten out Nvidia back then.

Mostly every forum member would know my answer...🤣🤣🤣. Exactly EVGA can create their own drivers problem solved next question😼

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Exactly EVGA can create their own drivers problem solved next question😼

Imagine how terrible those drivers would be.

    ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium
    My EVGA Score: 1546 • Zero Associates Points • I don't shill
