I have a Z170 FTW board would my cpu work with these new MB's or do I have to buy a new CPU
 
 i7 6700K, 3200MHz DDR4 Trident Z
,  Samsung 850 PRO 512 GB SSD,  WD 1TB HDD
EVGA GeForce  GTX 1070 FTW,  EVGA Z170 FTW,
EVGA DG-86 Case,  SuperNOVA 750 P2,  Win 10 x64

  
        
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, G.SKILL Trident Z 3600Mhz 32GB ,Crossair MP600 1TB,
  EVGA GeForce  GTX 1070 FTW,  ASUS ROG STRIX X570, EVGA DG-86 Case, EVGA CLC 280, Supernova 750 G5, Win 10 x64

    Good Question Both are FCLGA1151

    the answer found here, suggests no as I do not see 6700K listed :   https://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/
     
    pick the MB your interested in - check chart
     
     
    I checked your "socket design" of current CPU - web search    https://ark.intel.com/pro...M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz
     
    Your CPU "socket design" is FCLGA1151 same those MB are FCLGA1151
