Greetings, I would like to ask if anyone who mines with 3080ti, has already installed windows 11. Are there any issues with drivers, etc, affecting profitability ?

New OS releases always come with issues regardless of what the system is being used for. Just wait a few months at least. That’ll give MS time to roll out some patches and updates.

I don't know what those people are talking about. I'm running Windows 11 (public release) and mining/gaming with a 3080 Ti. ZERO issues. People love to hate on windows saying it's buggy when really it's their fault they're having problems. Yes 11 had some minor problems (ryzen l3 cache bug was a big one) but there fixed for the most part.

Oh, is that why Microsoft publishes lists of known issues and the status of their resolution? For reference: https://docs.microsoft.co...status-windows-11-21h2

Looking forward to installing the upcoming W10E 21H2 LTSC some time next year and not having to put up with MS's usual bull until at least 2026.

Such a stupid outlook.
It's a new OS. It's going to have issues.

think im gonna try installing 11. In case of problematic scenarios, how easy is the 10 rollback?

My understanding is that there is a time limit. What is it about Windows 11 that you are anxious to have?

Get a test machine or computer so you can separate it from your production machine. Don't change them all at once. If you don't have a testing rig, at least get a separate ssd where you can install and test. That way, you just have to toggle the bios on which ssd to boot.

a bit messy. Still, is there a safe rollback?

I don't understand how an OS can create FOMO, unless the one you are currently using is messed up.
I don't plan on "upgrading" unless I see a the possiblity of a tangible benefit from doing so.

I upgraded because it appears that I am seeing slightly better performance in gaming and benchmarks.

Windows 10 is supported by Microsoft until 2025. Meaning, security updates will still be pushed for it until then.

That's a nice thing to consider when you are mining.

i agree, but my point is that new OS, takes time and effort from hackers to develop their things :)

Just buy a spare 256gb nvme drive and do a fresh install on that.

And, spend money and time to test only? Then deciding to install it on my main drive ?

Yep. 250GB Crucial P2 is $35 and widely available. It's like buying a USB drive. https://pcpartpicker.com/...tate-drive-ct250p2ssd8 Or use one of the many spare SSD's you just have laying around. Or take it as a opportunity to upgrade your OS drive to a bigger/better one. Doing it on another drive than your current OS drive and install may save you considerable headaches if you want to revert to W10. Or by all means take a Macrium image or live clone (or both) as backup of your OS drive to a spare HDD, then do the W11 install on your main OS drive, either as a new install or update. You can in theory revert back to your backup, but it's not without risk and time spent fiddling around with it. I'd personally do a new install regardless.

Do you really think that GPU unavailability, relies on miners?
