I have installed the Windows creator update today. I wanted to let everyone know that when this occurs the update will install a Microsoft NVIDIA drivers which lacks OpenGL support. So after the update is done download from the NVIDIA website the latest WHQL drivers and install them

This wont happen if you install clean offline then install Nvidia drivers from a saved drive/usb stick.

of my 3 Win 10 pro systems only one blocked the nvidia driver update
( think that systems used the group setting suggested here )

The other 2 system ( using other blocking suggestions )got hit with a day 2 extra feature update that changed the Nvidia driver but was able to re-install one of the older HF drivers to get Folding going.

Note :driver rollback was not listed as an option

I'll assume that if you have newer drivers than that provided by the update they will not be overridden.

If their is an Windows.Old Folder after this Install of the New OS I do not see how it kept the same Driver?
If their is not an Windows.Old Folder then is this more of a Service Pack Install?

What I saw on my system was, after I did the Creators update, MS did install the latest driver over the top of the driver I was using.  It just so happened that I was already using the latest driver.  But I noticed some of my NVCPL tweaks were back to default.  So that's what I think happened in my case anyway...

Yup. In my case I use OEM drivers directly for my pc. Guess what? After installing those and the second I get online. Windows is pulling newer drivers I do not want to use. MS knows best right?!?! Its like you don't even own your pc when Windows 10 is on it.

I dual boot on several system and use extra system with win-7
Win-7 and WMC still the best low cost way to use DRM with cable cards and Silicon dust /TiVo type devices.
2020 - when Win 7 ends is going to be interesting.

Seems like every old game I have needs a different Nvidia driver to run BUT at least FOLDING and old game systems work together.

As I recall one my win-7 systems using older EVGA MB that had NVIDIA support chips can NOT run Win-10

Mine added the NVidia 3D and HD Audio drivers which I did NOT want. All I want is the basic driver and physx, nothing else. Fortunately it did not add the NVidia GeForce Experience bs. Also noticed MS does not install NVidia drivers in the default location that NVidia does, so trying to install using NVidia's .exe default installation might create driver conflicts because it's not overwriting the old drivers. Why would MS do that if not to just pee the hell out of everyone?

Using Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on a new build btw... and not loving it.

When you install the NVIDIA drivers from the NVIDIA website choose the clean install option and choose to only install what you want.

Yeah that's what I've always done in the past. Wasn't sure it would get rid of the old install MS did though since it's in a different location (and vice versa for next time). Will try it tonight.
