Sorry, I know this has been posted but couldn't find it in search.

I need to change OS to secure boot via changing Legacy Bios to UEFI to be able to upgrade to Win 11.  When I go into Bios and change to UEFI and hit save Windows Won't load the OS and I have to go back and change back to Legacy mode.

Is it worth the effort or should I just do a clean install of Win 11?

Thanks

Pretty sure that is going to require a format and clean install, that choice needs to be made at the bios level before an OS is installed.
There "may" be a work around someone might come along with  to get around it, but for best results I would certainly suggest a clean install of Windows 11 once you change it to UEFI.  PITB but it is what I would do if it were me.

Thanks Don, thats what I was thinking too.  I really like Win 10 but my work boxes are all 11 so time to move on.

I will just load a new SSD and install Win 11 over it.

there is a way to convert legacy install to EUFI, but its very manual process, that not easy to follow

    Did it once...

Make sure before you go any further that you have a backup of your PC files/pictures and important info.
