Willie was not only one of the best ballplayers of all time, he was a wonderful person as well.   He was one of my idols...and coincidentally, we shared the same birthday...something I always wore with honor.  One year, on our birthday, my boss was partnered with Willie at a golf tournament at Pebble Beach...and mentioned to Willie that it was "my" birthday...Willie had him dial my office line and got on the phone and wished me a happy birthday....I wished him Happy Birthday as well.  He didn't have to do that..a.but was the type of person that was super considerate to others.  I will never forget that birthday that Willie and I chatted.  Great man...who the modern day ballplayer could easily use as a role model.  RIP Willie!  Condolences to your family and friends..
