Big question, because if it's only FE then I might as well buy FE now.

Anyone from EVGA willing to give any guidance to us consumers?

Please provide any Link to an available GTX1080Ti hybrid product please!  Both Asus (Poseidon) and MSI (Seahawk) have announced hybrid solutions, but none are yet available to actually buy as far as I know.  And definitely nothing available in the US anytime soon

Check Newegg out. They released the MSI Sea Hawk X version yesterday. I picked one up and canceled my FTW3 pre order last night. Sorry EVGA, you snooze you lose! I just wish they had more information available.. if FTW3 is taking until May 1st, who knows how long Hybrid will take. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a MSI fan. I never had MSI GPU before. Always had EVGA and loved their customer support but I couldn't wait any longer.

Re: Will there be a FTW Hybrid? or will it be FE Hybrid? 2017/04/11 19:31:26 (permalink)
I initially purchased a EVGA GTX 1080TI FE from a local retailer. I still have not opened it due to the heat levels people were experiencing under a load. I am currently using a EVGA 980TI Hybrid and have grown use to the hybrid configuration. I have signed up for email notifications for the 1080TI Hybrid kit for the 1080TI FE. I was unsuccessful trying to buy one when I received a notification the kit was in stock. I came across the MSI 1080TI X Sea Hawk in stock at Newegg today and took the plunge and ordered it. Considering the price is $799 for the MSI I will be saving money over the 1080TI FE and adding the Hybrid kit. I was hoping EVGA would have released the Hybrid or at least have a date when it would be released.

I'm going to give this to the end of the month, if we still don't have a true ETA I will just go for the seahawk the next time I see it in stock.

Re: Will there be a FTW Hybrid? or will it be FE Hybrid? 2017/04/24 02:28:20 (permalink)
When EVGA comes out with the 'Hybrid' likely the pricing will draw the market downward to about 750$ I think, and I will get one at least, one @ 750$ or < in pricing. I got a initial 'Founders' and the temps are so much better than a 980 I have in my multi card setup (For CG rendering- Titan Maxwell, 1080 Ti and 980). I am surprised the 'Founders 1080Ti runs as cool as it does already compared to the 980.
I also suspect there is going to be some influence on timing the 1080Ti Hybrid with initial release of. or leading indicators of, the first Voltas. TO say, EVGA may take a little longer for a 1080 TI Hybrid to ascertain costs involved with initial Voltas- in about 4 months/ one quarter year/ one filings in corporate profits/ stock pricings...
Or maybe I'm wrong and the 1080Ti Hybrid will be marketed for the entire 'quarter' leading up to 'Soon to be released!!', Volta announcements?

can we get another update as near future generally isn't >4 weeks? We can already buy competitor AIO hybrid cards and we don't even know what what type of TI your version will be, why is it taking so long to even have information? Even a tease of information???

Why is it to much for EVGA to give us Customer an update on a possible release Month.

At this point I would be happy with the Hybrid Kit EU restock date. But we probably will not get one as well.

I am trying to think how the lack of info/updates on these products benefit EVGA.

No one here is saying to rush production, we just want to know what they're working on to know if it is worth the wait. A hybrid FE version is very different than a hybrid FTW version in terms of what the competition already has released to market.

Any chance we never see it, considering NVidia expedited plans for Volta?
By the time Hybrid production capacity meets demand, nobody would want obsolete card.

With zero guidance from EVGA, I'm now trying to figure out either getting FE and at a later date fit a cooler, buy the Seahawk X (in stock now) or else buy the Strix (in stock now). I'm favouring the Seahawk X right now, but have yet to settle on final choice. I'm not expecting any news from EVGA and it has been a long month of waiting.

Yeah. The fact that EVGA has given us (0) info in the last month on this card or the Hybrid Kit makes me wonder what really going behind the scenes.

It make no business sense to hold back info on possible release/restock dates.

EVGA moderators need to ask for some clarification on these items. I think they should be able to at least tell us a possible release month.

Let's be honest, cards of the hybrid type are being bought for the OC and silence. Cards from the family Pascal are very peculiar from the point of OC - all 1080, 1080 Ti are achieving just enough the same of clocking. Silence is an issue of creating the personal curve of fans.

So....expressed in FPS difference of the MSI, EVGA, GIGABYTE are minimal (3-4 fps max).

I personally am waiting impatiently on hybryde from EVGA because for years I bought this brand and VERY much satisfied. Farther I will be waiting on hybryde from EVGA.... but every waiting has it limits.

Remember EVGA to respect loyal customers.
