I don't have that exact combo, but I know my Dark board likes the 960 Evo, works great.  Unfortunately I can't speak for that exact combo.  I have had both M.2's populated as well with no issue at all.

Should work absolutely fine so long as the board will take SATA in the M.2 which I believe it will.

I went with the 512GB 960 Pro for the "C" OS drive and an 970 EVO 1TB as the "D" drive - I do not remember what the placement on the board is, but I think I have them placed the same as you have pictured above for C and D drive placement.

Which drive is not showing up?

The M.2 SATA Drive, I was only hopping to use it. It seems that only NVMe M.2 Drives are supported.
I put in my Intel OPTANE Memory 32 GB and using it as my Swap Drive.
All in all it is running very well.

Yeah, you need NVMe M.2 drives. The second - as a SATA interface - will not work.

    Think 1: EVGA X99 Micro2 ¦ i7-5820K ¦ Kingston DDR4 2400 MHz 13-13-13-35 ¦ EVGA GTX 980 Ti SC ACX 2.0+ ¦ Samsung SM951 256GB ¦ RM1000i ¦ Dell UP2715K ¦ Caselabs Mercury S5 ¦ Single custom watercooling loop with Hardware Labs GTS 360 and GTS 240 and twin D5 pumps

    Think 2: EVGA X299 Dark ¦ i7-7800X ¦ G.Skill DDR4 3200 MHz 14-14-14-34 ¦ EVGA RTX 2080 Ti XC Gaming ¦ 2x Samsung 970 Evo 2TB ¦ EVGA SuperNOVA P2 1200 ¦ Dell UP2715K ¦ Caselabs Magnum SMA8/A ¦ Twin custom water-cooling loops with Hardware Labs GTX 560 and GTS 480 with D5 pumps and Aquaero 6 XT control
