I'm a stay at home dad sooooo...I don't believe so.  I'm terrible at it so maybe it'd be a good thing.  lol


Man that's a tough job - parenting is one of the most difficult jobs there are - 24/7, no breaks, no pay (I have a 5 year old girl).

It's also hard to see how robots doing jobs will change other jobs. A doctor who specializes in back injuries might see a decrease of income if robots start doing factory jobs for example or the bartender at the bar near the factory might close if they have replaced workers at the factory with machines. It's easy to think of a job as safe but really it depends on how the loss of income would effect jobs around the area that depended on the workers income.

I think at a point it will slow down (automation). If people don't work, then people don't consume goods, dropping the demand for fast, cheap, robotic labor.
Like some type of equilibrium.

The only way for it to take over 100% is if we create a slave race of robots, and we all know how that ends (not terminator or BSG, but Pixar's Wall-e).

Dont worry a lot of you will lose your jobs when the new economic collapse hits just like in 2008-2009. We are certainly over due for one. And it sure will be a HELL of a lot worse this time around. So no need to worry to much yet about robots. But in the near future of around 20 years is when we should be worried with that.


 
As long as there's oil coming our way, my job is secure =D!
