Current setup is:

1440p 144hz monitor
Rtx 2080 ti ftw3 ultra
Core i9 9900k @5ghz
16gb 3200mhz ram
1tb m.2 for gaming
750w +80 gold psu
Z390 auros master mobo

My question is if I game at ultra/max settings 1440p will I experience bottlenecking if I upgraded to an rtx 3090 ftw3 ultra
and if it will, would cpu bottlenecking be bad for my 9900k?
Also planning to get games in future that are more gpu intensive like black ops Cold War, cyberpunk 2077, etc..

No, you will not bottleneck a 9900K @1440p resolution

The 9900k overclocked is nearly at the top of the CPU stack when it comes to gaming.  So even if it bottlenecked, you aren't going to be able to really do much better.

Thanks for the replies, will bottlenecking the cpu cause it to degrade faster?

Get a 3080 for 1440p big dog

Overclocking may degrade your CPU faster, but we are talking 24/7 usage at high voltage for years or doing something well beyond spec like 1.4+ volts.

While others may not think so, the data shows that even the current fastest CPU overclocked to 5.3GHz does leave some performance untapped at 1440P. It's not as bad as 1080P, but the performance % difference increase from 1440P to 4K shows this in thorough reviews like this one: https://www.techpowerup.c...-3090-strix-oc/32.html
