Hi,

This has always puzzled me. Once in a while when I boot into Windows I am greeted by low resolution and both by 980 Ti Kingpins with yellow exclamation marks with one coming up as Microsoft Basic adapter and the other one as 980 Ti Adapter yellowed out! Only way to get it working today was to DDU in safemode and reinstall the graphic drivers clean. On my 6850K only 200mhz overclocked and running my ram at 2666 mhz. Got a 1200 Watt PSU. Feel like going with a single card solution if this keeps up!

Thanks

If there is a fault in the device manager, its giving a code. Open the device and see what code it is giving.

Example (images are not related, just examples):

Fault shows, open the device with the fault:

What code shows when you open it?:

It could be a lot of things that would cause it. Knowing the code would help. You might want to also see what happens when you do not overclock them and when did you originally do the overclock? Sometimes an overclock that was stable in the fall will not be stable in the summer.

Could be but my overclocks on this system are so minor. Only thing that is really overclocked is the ram at 2666mhz.

As far as my GPU's are concerned I have them running at 1213mhz Gpu clock, Memory at 1786mhz, and Boost 1314mhz.
The stock speeds are 1203 mhz,  1774mhz, and 1304mhz. Perhaps I have to raise the voltage on my KPE's. There is a dip
switch on these cards that give them a 0.25 v bumb but not sure how to or where they are.

    Thanks

    You have a kingpin card?

The 25mv dip switch is for extreme overclokcing. On air or water, you do not need those. They would just add excessive heat and blast extra voltage for no reason.

The switch is to help add voltage when you are near -100c. On air and water, you dont need that much voltage at all.

And Afterburner reports one Gpu is at somewhere between 950 -1037 mv and the other gpu at 875mv! Its like a huge voltage gap between the two cards!!

The lower voltage one is probably the bottom card, as it doesnt get used as much as the top card.

I wasn't sure about that but it makes sense. Thought it may also have to with the Asic scores perhaps. One is 75 % and the other 76.3 % in Asic quality.

Also each dip switch, there are two, raise the voltages 25 mv each at a max of 50mv rise but the EVGA Engineers put it in such an unreachable place forget it! Not going to happen! What were they thinking!?!

They were thinking that people wanting to use the dipswitches wont have a cooler or backplate in the way, because they will have an LN2 pot mounted. Again, not for use with air and water.

I suggest heading over to kingpin cooling forums and taking a look at the write ups from T|n
