EVGA strongly suggests to keep the FTW3 ULTRA or XC3 ULTRA models due to consistent supply compared to limited supply on K|NGP|N, HYDRO COPPER and HYBRID due to supply constraints. Obviously the queue spreadsheets can be thrown off if people don't report the card they get and I might be answering my own question, but it seems like 3080 ti hybrids are being sold while no 3080 ultra hybrids of late. They are both Ultras/XC3, so why not an equal number of hybrid versions? Been waiting in the queue since december and watching people from June this year getting their 3080 ti Hybrids (3968/3958) but nobody reporting 3080 (3888/3898). Is the Hybrid kit a difference shape/easier to make for the ti version?

Signed up for 3080Ftw3 hybrid Dec 19,Kingpin on Jan 18. 3080tiFtw3 June 6.Purchased the Kingpin in March and passed of course on 3080ti 1 month ago.The queue has not moved for 3080ft3 hybrid in months.EVGA is not gonna sell you a 3080 for a grand bud.Only option is a little bit better 3080 for a 50 -100 percent markup.

What do you mean, the store page lists it as $899?

It’s partly based on what EVGA can get their hands on. 3080s across the board are hard to come by. Remember, it’s Nvidia that’s telling chip manufacturers what to manufacture when it’s their go at the fabrication process. If Nvidia says to pump out more 3080 Tis than anything else, then you’ll see more 3080 Tis in their various forms than anything else.

While I don't know for sure it does seem like NVIDIA might want the Ti to be the card sold over the 3080 at this point. It's a guess on my part but I would say that they are starting to look at what games in the future will need to run and are starting to think more memory is a good idea.

every SKU moves at a different speed ... it is not linear .... EVGA sells what they have the parts to build What the "secret sauce" is for the mix ... no one knows except Nvidia & EVGA When the Queue was updated Jacob mentioned Hybrids & Hydro Copper were going to be slow availability & recommended FTW3 Ultra for faster availability

With the 3080, 3080ti, and 3090 all being on the GA102, my guess is the 3080ti is probably the sweet spot where they figured most GA102 dies can meet spec. Only chips being turned into 3080s likely can't become Ti's and if they are getting high yields, not many dies are probably available. If Nvidia can sell the same chip but at a higher profit margin, that's what they will do. The board markers are no different, they add some memory and a few other resistors to the same board and they have a $1400 card instead of an $850 card.
The 3080 was a pretty slapping deal at original MSRP.

LOL not triggered at all, you're the one throwing labels here. Asking a follow up question means one is triggered in your mind? No I just showed you were wrong with your claim that "evga won't sell me a card for a grand" And even with your tax addon, you still contradict yourself as it's under a grand. Thanks for playing "bud"

Yeah the memory is definitely a win/win for gaming, but even with my 2080 Super I've yet to run into any memory issues with current gaming with my needs. Right now I'm happy to -average- 120 fps on 1440p, with a 3080 my goal is -minimum- 120fps on 1440p. I won't move to 4k til the 4xxx series.

Well see that's the crux of the mystery for me, the 3080 ftw3 ultra and the hybrid 3080 ftw3 ultra are the same card aren't they? Except one has a hybrid kit pre installed on it? So if they are saying the FTW3 Ultra is the fastest for availability, but the hybrid isn't... does that indicate a shortage of hybrid/aio materials?

I made the really stupid mistake of thinking "If I remove everything and just goal for one I'll get it faster right?" That idiotic mistake is on me. Now we can't even get into the queue for anything else, otherwise I'd choose the 3080 ti Hybrid as my second

Why are so many 3080 ti hybrids releasing, but no 3080 hybrids? Profit. The 3080 Ti is a money maker. The 3080 is a bad deal for EVGA and NVIDIA compared to the 3080 Ti. When demand is so high, they are of course going to focus on where the profit is. The 3080 is on the production back-burner so that production resources can be reserved for the cards which make the most profit. If/when the SUPERs come out (or the 3090 Ti), the 3080 will be "SUPER" phased out.

A 3080 Hybrid just was sold, moving the queue for the 3888 one minute and 10 seconds forward. So looks like evga aren't just selling the most expensive cards. Edit: 3 now in the last couple days. lol hoping somebody at evga read this thread and moved a few through. If they did, THANK YOU.
