I disagree with some comments in the article. I believe companies are upgrading because the upgrade path isn't as adverse as it was from XP to 7. In addition hardware requirements aren't that bad which means Enterprise customers can upgrade on existing PC hardware that works with Windows 7 in most all cases.

I can remember the hell we went through with Engineering Tools going form XP to 7.

Windows 7 will most likely be my last Microsoft OS. If it wasn't for gaming and a few programs I would have switched to Linux completely.

Just get it done. Windows 10 isn't that bad, and I can still play games with no problems.

No thanks. No compelling reason. More reasons not to. Windows 10 took away the Media Center I use in my HTPCs. One among many reasons not to downgrade to Win 10

I agree that removal of the media center was a bad move by Microsoft

So use a 3rd party Media center, most of the 3rd party ones have better features

Why is there a stronger negative minority in regards to Windows 10 compared to when XP and Windows 7 were realeased and why is Windows 10 rollout happening faster than shift from XP to Windows 7? It couldn't be possible that the two are related, could it? Derr. Like, maybe, shoving it forcefully down peoples' throats had something to do with both the positive adoption and some negative reactions?

OS as a service is pissing me off from an IT perspective. They keep on screwing with UX and UI and patching every few months. Logistically, they're creating too many customer service issues.

When I move to 10 in 2020 it will be dual boot. That way when it breaks for some reason from a forced hardware driver update I'm not screwed. For me it's the forced updates. I don't want to jump through hoops either. Just give me risk control like I have in 7. Most notably Nvidia drivers.

It already ended in 2012 and this is just hyper-reality.
