Why would you make a high static pressure fan (3.0 mm/H2O) but ONLY make it in white? Why?

I'm talking about the white LL120 fan (SKU CO-9050092-WW).

The LL120 fan in black ONLY comes as a 1.6 mm/H2O fan.

I even contacted Corsair to check it wasn't a typo. It's not. They do not make a high static pressure LL120 fan in black, only white.

Seriously, why would you do that?

If you're wondering why I'm asking, it's because I have a 680X RGB case (black) which is designed to go with the LL120 fans. I'm going to have to use the front fans for the new 30XX hybrid radiator, so I need the higher static pressure there.

Bah.

Except Noctua hasn't ever been able to keep it's black fans in stock anyplace all year...

Nereus, the static pressure difference between the LL120 black vs white fans, is because the black models run 700RPM slower. Fan speed directly affects the static pressure. It's odd it's the same model fan but has a different shipping RPM...

Corsair got back to me again - the white 3.0mm/H2O fans were for/from a special edition AiO. They won't be making any in black like that, and the white ones are limited. That's unfortunate. Corsair have never really been good on high static pressure fans.

I just talked to Corsair and they told me that if you want a high static fan you need to purchase an ML model. LL isn’t for big performance, it’s for aesthetics

    This one is 2.25mm - H2O

Yeah that's their highest pressure one (other than those limited edition 3.0mm/H2O white LL fans), but I have some 3.37mm/H2O bequiet! fans I can use.. no RGB of course. 680X RGB case was pretty expensive, sad they don't sell high pressure LL fans to go with it (unless you got the white case, then you're golden!)

It's not a surprise they can't keep the black Noctua fans in stock. They are great fans that have a modern look unlike the more traditional brown fans they are known for.

I would say that the Corona virus pandemic is affecting stock.

It's far more than just a demand issue unfortunately. Multiple retailers haven't even received a single shipment of Noctua chromax fans in >6 months. One site was supposed to begin carrying them this year, but never got shipped any to begin with.

These ML120 are listed at 4.2 mm-H2O and 75 cfm, pretty good airflow through my H100i pro 240mm aio, keeping my 9900k oc cooled.

All black with same specs. Although no RGB if that's what you're looking for.

Thanks. Yeah certainly there are non-RGB Corsair fans that are excellent for radiators, I was just looking for those LL120 type with the inner and outer RGB because they go with the 680X case I have (in fact they are specifically included with the 680X RGB case). Normally I'm not a huge RGB fanatic or anything, but since I have this case that's literally made for RGB bling, it seems weird they don't make the higher static pressure LL120 black fans since Corsair says the case is compatible for up to a 360mm front radiator.. If you use their Custom Cooling Configurator, and select the 680X and a front radiator, it actually says, and this is copy and pasted directly, "Your case contains CORSAIR fans suitable for a custom cooling system. The number of included fans has been deducted from the total to optimize the cost to you." What a load of bollox - a 1.6mm/H2O is not a good radiator fan at all, and that's at max speed too! The only reason they have the white LL120 fans at 3.0mm/H2O is because they made a limited edition white AiO cooler which uses those fans. If they ever make a black limited edition AiO cooler then great... but they apparently have no plans for it (I have been talking with them over email). Anyway I already have the high static pressure 'bequiet!' fans I can use if I go non-RGB on the radiators.
