Fun. The ASUS Tuf (Weak) Z690 DDR4 board I returned to Newegg for replacement due to a dead PCIe slot has been changed by Newegg into a refund - apparently they "no longer carry that item" so are processing a refund. I'm not the only person who received the same mobo DoA. I guess I'll continue running my Z590 FTW3 in the meantime and wait for EVGA Z690 sometime next year (and wait for some DDR5 to go with it). On the positive side, I won't need to worry about selling that ASUS board.

^^^ I can beat that Nereus...

I had an ASUS PG27VQ monitor that went weird when I connected it to a RTX3090 and only got worse over time. Due to lockdowns and waiting for the ASUS service centre to open (it still hasn't) I took a stab a couple of weeks ago, calling ASUS and raising a RMA. They pick up and paid for the courier, sent it to an authorised repairer but it was deemed "unrepairable" and sent to ASUS in my state. I thought they might end up offering a refurbished monitor or possibly a different model but no... they issued a refund to the retailer I purchased it from (MRC). I contacted the retailer and offered to get a LG as a replacement (they no longer carry ASUS monitors) instead but was told that wouldn't be possible and I would receive a full refund. I bought this monitor back in April 2019 and yesterday, the retailer did indeed refund the full purchase amount. I have since bought a LG UltraGear 27GP850-B from a different retailer and have $400 left over!

And to stay on track with this thread... I came across a listing on eBay over in the USA who has "in hand G.SKILL Trident Z5 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 MHz CAS36" memory for $US740. What's infuriating is the seller claims to have sold 11 kits and still has more than 10 left. How does anyone get hold of that many kits to scalp in the first place?

I'm running the G.SKILL F5-6000U4040E16GX2-TZ5K kit now.  https://www.gskill.com/pr...5-6000U4040E16GX2-TZ5K

While tightening/adjusting timings, bumping up voltages they are difficult to test for stability, as the temps reach 50c within 5-min running Karhu memory test without active cooling.

Samsung memory starts throwing errors soon after reaching 50c while testing, but can be 100% stable with same settings if your actively cooling modules keeping them below 50c. I have a temporary fan cooling them now for testing, but plan on installing water block, and copper heatshields this weekend. 6200MHz is about the limit with Samsung modules regardless of timings or voltage adjustments.

Thanks man.....I used to have these little fans to blow on my RAM ...so long ago...think it was a Dominator kit but dont have it now.....I'll have a look at EK ...maybe Memory blocks n tie into my loop...or just see who may have those Memory Fans that would clip on directly over the RAM sticks.....oh boy ;)

My GSkill 5600 C36 should be at my house this Friday 24th and got notification today from Corsair that my Dominator 5600 C36 kit shipped today via Fedex....

Been reading though a number of the OC'ing guides, in particular Falkentynes and Shamino's @ ROG.....looks like I'll have to try n dive into "Per Core" vs "Sync All" this time around ;) A TON of new options available in the Apex UEIFI.....wow!!! Going to be a steep learning curve me things....or just lay the boots to it "Sync All Cores" and manual voltage ;)

There have been daily drops on MemoryC all week for a variety of GSkill kits, as well as a few drops of Dominators and Vengeance kits both Corsair Canada and Corsair US sites....hence the kits all showing up on fleabag.....check out how saturated ebay is getting with all these kits...as more n more are available these guys are going to have drop prices ....especially on the lower frequency kits....I wouldn't settle for a 4800 kit now...not with 6200 n 6400 popping up daily.....

You will only need the fans or active cooling for running memory tests, Prime95,.. that directly stress the RAM ICs,.. the PMIC seems to get up to 15 watts of power from VIN_Bulk input for switching regulators and VIN_Mgmt input, so PMIC can also get warm when testing and reach 13c quickly without active cooling.

I have been using the clip-on Corsair memory cooler for testing only, it can be quickly removed to swap-out modules,.. and after testing can be removed as the memory does not need active cooling for 24/7 usage, or for gaming, benchmarking runs my memory without active cooling runs below 30c even after hours of benchmark runs, or hours of gaming the memory temps are fine without active cooling.

Lucky you! Not in Newegg US - not unless you want to pay 2-3 times MRSP to a 3rd party seller... and I've also noticed Newegg are often splitting up pairs of DDR5 sticks so you'd have to buy 2 motherboards just to get 2 sticks, even with many of the shuffle combos. B@stards.

Yep so I have these now coming:
https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-32gb/p/N82E16820374316

https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr5-sdram/p/N82E16820374309

https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/Categories/Products/Memory/DOMINATOR-PLATINUM-RGB-DDR5-Memory---Black/p/CMT32GX5M2X5600C36

Likely return the GSkill 5600 C36 non rgb's and keep the Doms and try out the GSkill 6000 C36 Kit.....

There are still some GSkill kits available on the Egg Canada site....figured with all those auto notify drops on MemoryC there would be a bunch showing up in Canada........all the scalpers can eat their stock....expecially when they stock piled all those 4800 - 5200 kits ;)

Watch for retail prices on fleabag!!!

All PC parts stock has been a non issue in Canada...only Memory (DDR5)....got my Asus Apex Z690 4 weeks ago ....stock availability for Apex and Extreme Boards has been fine..as has 12900K (tons of em)..GPU stock has been the same as what you guys are going thru.....

DDR5 still available after several hours:

Speaking of scalpers.....had a look the prices are crashng....they're eating em now, especially the 4800 to 5200 kits....looks like they're trying to get maybe +$100 over retail!

Curious to see the price on the evga boards. Ive ordered my 12900K. I havent owned an EVGA board since the x58.

How can I not want the 12600k. It's such a great deal and I gotta get something as I gave my 2800x system to my gf for christmas in a shiny new lian li case.

Well.. that's not good.

I wonder if that's why Newegg refunded my ASUS Z690 rather than replacing it (I requested replacement - dead PCIe slot).

edit: and an update in the issue: an upside down capacitor (polarity wrong way around).. really stupid manufacturing error apparently.

My last piece showed up today

Corsair Dominator 32G 5600 C36 .....I see a ton of GSkill kits now available....I would think the ebay scalpers are now trying to sell for retail....

Never been a fan of the "Hero Class" Boards.....lower end "high end" if that makes sense, its either Extreme or Apex for this kid ;)
Evga is anything but perfect as well......FTW3 30xx series "popping n dying followed by fixed red light of death".....perhaps this whole "pandemic era" has truly affected QA all across the board....sure seems that why!

In Canada maybe.. I'm not seeing anything (US), at least not online - unless you buy a motherboard you don't want with it. EBay is still well overpriced, their starting bids 3 days out are a little more realistic, but they end up closing much higher.

Corsair Dominator 32G 5600 C36 .....I see a ton of GSkill kits now available...

In Canada maybe.. I'm not seeing anything (US), at least not online - unless you buy a motherboard you don't want with it. EBay is still well overpriced, their starting bids 3 days out are a little more realistic, but they end up closing much higher.

Well maybe were now getting some stock sow up while you guys arent.....just dont give in to the Ebay fleabaggers....and there ridiculous inflatable prices...I got my Corsair Kit retail from Corsair Canada.....and have 2 GSkill kits coming from Newegg.ca ......Newegg Canada has had kits available for the last 2 weeks......Im returning 2 GSkill kits to the Egg........f$%*ck the scalpers...hope they eat em all!

Well looks like I may have got lucky.. there were a heap of overpriced sets of DDR5 on EBay, but amongst them all were a few sets that were very close to retail price.. of course they were auctions so I figured they'd end up closing for at least $600 or more (as most of them do), but a few days ago I put a bid on some factory sealed Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 2x16GB DDR5 5600MHz C36 to see what would happen. The price on Corsair.com with tax added (NYC) is $468.16 + shipping. The set on EBay were starting at $471.00 + $15 expedited shipping. The auction just closed.. nobody else bid! I got them for $3 more than retail, and the shipping is probably less than what Corsair charges! The EBay seller account is almost 11 years old, so that's promising (unless it's hacked).. I'll pay up and hope I'm not going to get scammed. I figure about 50/50 chance I'll be scammed and applying to a refund in a week or so.

Hope EVGA release their Z690 boards soon...

edit: ack.. I forgot EBay adds tax now, so I paid about $43 above retail with tax included, but that's still not too bad.. I get a cashback bonus with my credit card, so it ends up about 7% markup.

Likely some benefits ...look at the plates / heatsinks....I believe Braegnok has an active fan blowing over them as well....or has tried it....could also incorporate your RAM into your loop...

Would be interesting to throw the memory into the loop. My CPU line passes right over the memory so wouldn't be too hard. With the speed of DDR5 development my RAM may be getting swapped out fairly often so may end up being more of a pain than some custom heatsinks.

Thanks man....like the looks of the Classy.....the Kingpin is nice looking and comparible to the Apex with 21 phases....not sure about the location and orientation of the Memory modules

"Bobzone" question...whats the purpose of x2 QLED Post Codes ? One for post codes and one set for temps or something else?

I was wondering what the 2 OLED post codes are also but we will find out when it gets reviewed and in our hands.

Testing the FMMJ Ram-Jackets today: https://imgur.com/fQYJF4M

FMMJ Ram-Jacket Memory kit: https://xtia.design/produ...variant=40919513006280

Interesting bit of hardware.  See any benefits over the stock cooling solution on the G.Skills?

The Ram-Jacket shields seem cooler running than the G.SKILL factory shields but not much. Perhaps due to better thermal pads & much thicker shields.

For running XMP profile @ 1.20V and doing normal daily tasks the Ram-Jackets work same as factory G.SKILL shields, and temps are fine 21c to 27c depending on ambient air temp inside chassis.

I mainly bought them for my Green PCB Dell kit, but noticed yesterday the ICs on the Dell modules are golden SK Hynix chips.

So now I plan on going with EK Monarch shields on the Dell kit with the V2 water block, will be running 1.50V+ and see what shakes out,.. hoping for 6600MHz.

Funny how things work out sometimes, I ordered the Dell 4800MHz kit from Dell upgrade store on the day I ordered my motherboard,..
as I could not find any DDR5 and thought at least with the ugly green sticks will be able to start system when board arrives.

A few days later I was able to buy two G.SKILL DDR5 kits on Newegg Shuffle, both G.SKILL kits arrived before the Dell kit,.. so I never bothered to even open the Dell 4800MHz kit.
