I am getting an EK block on mine as soon as i get the actual card and as soon as EK has a proper block, I almost bought the Titan XP Block but i noticed the picture of it and i do NOT want a hole in the waterblock where the 1080 Ti is missing a DVI connector.

Think of it as an Air Vent, not going to bother me at all.

I cant, my motherboard is rotated 90 degrees and on the case i am upgrading to has glass panels on the front and side, so it is really going to stand out :)

Then hope EK is not doing what this Company did.

If they do i will make my own cover plate, not unlike the pic you just posted, sweet looking block though

My initial plan was to paint the backside of the plexiglass black to match my build.

I want to, I need to watch some videos and see if my skill set is where it needs to be to not mess up

repo1979, I bet you could install it just fine. Like you said watch a vid or two, follow the instructions. Make sure to leak test the cooling loop before plugging any power into motherboard. There was a first time for all of us.

I do like the looks of the Phanteks block, I didn't notice the cutout for DVI. But it will be needed for the later cards, so it will should fit multiple models. I hope to have my card and block by weeks end.

I went full hardline loop for my first build ever. It takes some research but isn't rocket science. Everything works *almost* exactly as you would expect.

Yeah, who knows how long before HC comes out. No brainer for me because I had to get my step-up in before the 24th to the Founder's and no way I'm waiting for a HC and then selling the Founder's for it. That difference will be much larger than slapping the EK block on it.

Ordered my EK block and backplate a couple of days ago from PPCs.

My 1080Ti got delivered to EVGA this morning for the Step-Up so I'm hoping to get it back mid-next week.

Rest of my water components coming before then and I'll just be stuck waiting for CPU block. My Heatkiller IV Pro was supposed to be delivered today. Instead, it hasn't even shipped (from Germany). And of course now it's back in stock at a U.S. store.

My Kryos Next with Vision said In Stock when I bought it but now the vendor is telling me their sales rep may have messed something up and allowed someone to buy it after me (it was the last one; after that it's 2+ weeks for more).

Christ. Buying CPU blocks is hard!

Top card so far 1911@39c, bottom at 1885@37c. Just letting them fold for the night, no further testing as of yet.

+1 hahaha, more than likely!

AngryAce, attention to detail and a good leak test is important.
It's very rewarding for noise reduction and the temps.

I almost got a little bit of a Tron affect from your pic Scarlet, that's awesome dude.Didn't take you long... 30's for temps, LOL! Nice.

Yeah. :D

Like narcotics, you always want more, stronger, bigger, better, longer lasting.

But... At least with liquid cooling you have fun instead ruining your life.

Some blocks look great but guess what u only see the back plate! I would much rather have more metal which exchanges heat better than clear acrylic windows on the underside!

I have done custom loop configuration at EKWB and I do have a question. I saw that you replaced the stock back plates, can we not use them or do we need the custom ones?

To yse the stock backplate, you would need to expand the holes so the ekwb m2.5 screw could fit through. I am not drilling a founder edition backplate when i can use an aftermarket version. It will jeopardize your warranty if you drill it out.

I didn't realize that Scarlet, in older cards it was a matter of getting longer screws or the right length ones. That would present a problem if you needed to RMA. Good info!

I have never owned a founders/Reference card before.. For reference, you can see which screw fits through the hole and which belongs to EKWB.  Use this picture as a reference that the Founders backplate will not work.

is it just one or several that would need to be drilled out?

Out of the 20 mountin holes, 9 would need to be drilled out to match the waterblock. The ekwb backplate only uses 7 mounting points. The stock backplate has standoffs on all 20 mounting holes, so the original ekwb screws couldnt be used under the stock backplate. Again, not worth it.

11 mounting points would be obvious that you modified the gpu since you have to break a tamper sticker, and you risk a warranty or at least a charge for the backplate.

Yep, I am using the Titan X Pascal backplate and it fits perfect. I bought mine directly from ekwb.

Yes, otherwise I wouldn't bring it up. Block will say Titan of course. Only Pascal blocks ,not Maxwell.  Just got my second hand block-n-plate in mail today.
