337am I'm waiting on this one to be released.
Came here to ask about this actually. Has anyone used, or read a review on, the Phanteks 1080 waterblocks?
I found one video on an actual install, it looks cool.

I wish I could get a HC version, but they'll either take forever to release it or when they do release it it'll be perpetually sold out.

I'm new to the whole water cooling thing, with that said I am looking forward to getting my cards and ordering my blocks. My question is this. Why are people so concerned with being able to see the fluid on the block. If I'm not mistaken this part faces down in your case unless you have an inverted board. Like I said before I'm new and maybe I'm missing something with the block but the only part of may cards I see is the backplates and LED edge. Please chime in and help a newbie water cooler out.

This is right. It doesn't really matter, it's just a minor aesthetics thing. The Hydro Coppers don't have exposed plexi to see the water and are still sexy as hell.

Thanks for the fast reply. I was just looking at the EK website and I saw the had a non clear version and wasn't sure if there was a difference. I do like the looks of the clear and wish you could see that when in the case but guess it really won't matter. How about CPU block should I opt for clear or nay?

Before I get too far into this answer, let me amend my previous response. Clear blocks have more than aesthetics, they are helpful because they tell you if you have air bubbles in your blocks. This is more important for CPUs IMO, because there's less cooling surface so a bubble can have a tangible impact. Regarding the CPU block, it will be prominently displayed in your case so you really need to decide if you want people to see the liquid. It's not like a GPU where the plexi is facing down and no one will ever see it. It's all about personal taste.

I really wish they would release the HCs with the other FTWs. MSI releases their Seahawks at the same/similar time.

I got my 1080tis this weekend, went with EK blocks/plates, nickel/acetal, black plates. I've settled on +150/+400 as 24/7 settings. Warm card is ~25C idle, ~49C stress load, FS: 27178 I'm pretty happy with them.

Nice, got me tied or beat in gfx though, even when not OCd. You using HB bridge?

rh0ne, that's a nice result. Are your cards about 5 degrees of one another or so? I just grabbed a second hand Titan XP block, still waiting on my card. UPS delivered my card today, but still showing Pending. @ jovalabs, I hope you find what you want. Some may want to keep it in case of warranty, card has to be returned to stock. GL though! Welcome to the forums, when you have 50 posts we also have a market to sell and buy PC things.

I am getting an EK block on mine as soon as i get the actual card and as soon as EK has a proper block, I almost bought the Titan XP Block but i noticed the picture of it and i do NOT want a hole in the waterblock where the 1080 Ti is missing a DVI connector.

Think of it as an Air Vent, not going to bother me at all.
I cant, my motherboard is rotated 90 degrees and on the case i am upgrading to has glass panels on the front and side, so it is really going to stand out :)
