Hello Is silicon lottery every gpu are clock diferent use presision x1 for know the best clock for core overcloking for your
gpu vram  you can do allot testing ingame or benchmark for test stability of memory

but the best is core overcloking

Thanks for the input. But regardless of the Silicon Lottery and all things equal, would performance be better with a higher GPU clock speed and lower Memory clock or the opposite?

higher GPU clock speed are the best  you will get allot more fps by overcloking core than memory is ,less importan than core

    Thanks,

The last Nvidia driver wasn't any good for me so I went back one but the MW update couldn't handle my current setting of 1000 / 140.

I played around and found the two above combinations worked with no real performance difference other than a little higher temps with the higher GPU clock.

Performance in benching?  Sure but in 24/7 daily use and gaming, not much of massive difference tbh.  The only times you'll see a sizable difference is between the Turing lines, i.e. 2060, 2070, 2080, 2080 Ti, etc.

Just trial, error and crash until you find out what works .
All set ups are different and there is no magic formula for fastest speeds .
    That's overclocking I'm glad to say .
If it was easy, we would all be up there with kingpin even though he is the LN2 king.
Highest stable core and then ramp up the memory or the other way around .

The only real difference I found was a bit with the temps so I went with the lower temp setting - 130 / 1000.

You can't go by other people's settings.
All our set ups will behave differently even using the same components (silicon lottery).
You have to find what works best for your set up by trial and error ( known as overclocking).
Just have fun and have a play .
It won't be put on a plate for you, have to do the work yourself so just have fun doing it .

Yep, unfortunately games are not equal and require different settings. I guess that is why they have 10 save blocks. I will usually go for the combo that produces less heat given the same performance.

More frames for me isn't the best answer for quality and a monitor setting at 144Hz and 71fps gives a better picture than 300fps at 120Hz. JMO

    Your are right .
You are also finding our what works best for you .
Exactly the same as over clocking your system.
The settings that give you the best results.
Cooling is so important as well .

Yes I understand. This was just a theoretical question based on the tech and it's usage since I saw no difference in the two different settings other than one had less heat.

Faster GPU Clock - if you can control the Temp - as Nvidia Boost 4.0 will lower your MHz as it gets warmer - this is Not thermal throttling

The "+ xyz" numbers are basically meaningless .....

Actual GPU & Memory MHz is all that matters

    Bottom line cooler is faster

The highest clock speeds on the core/memory without seeing a performance decease for the given application are the best settings to use.
