Mine is definitely Zelda Breath of the Wild.  It's so fun - and actually difficult.  It has some great puzzles to solve. 
 
+ playing it on the switch and having so many ways to play it makes it BEYOND fun.  I like using the pro controller and using the Joycons (alone) in each hand.  It gives the game a totally different and fun feel.
 
Of course the graphics aren't anything to write home about, but the game has vivid colors that look amazing!!!

To early to tell. But Zelda BOTW and Horizon ZD are amazing starts. Even if those 2 end up being the best offerings this year. Which I think they most likely will be. They made my year already.  

What about Nioh?  I have heard great things about that one too!

I heard its good. But I learned my lesson with Bloodborne. Props to people that have patients and skills to beat a game like that. I manged to take down 4 bosses before I called it quits.

Everything Nintendo is overrated beyond belief. The mere fact you're creating a game of the year thread 3 months into the year is absurd.

Zelda Breath of the Wild for me as well.  I'm loving this game.

For me at the moment is definitely Horizon Zero Dawn. And when it comes to PC games, it's still The Witcher 3 from 2015.

breath of wild is fun, but at the same time I think the colors are in some places a bit too bright, I mean I know they were going for that general look of very bright colors, but in a few cases it a little bit to far. framerates on the Wii U at times take a bit to get used too (and even if I could find a switch, not sure I'd want to $300 on what's pretty much one game for me right now that I can play on the Wii U)
weapon/shield durability system is different than one I'm used too, as you can't seem to repair 99% of the stuff that wears out, just have to find another weapon.
I do find the game play to be very fun, and first time in a Zelda game I'm avoiding fights because I don't I'm strong enough/skilled enough yet to win.
 
OH, unlimited wallet space from the get-go is nice (I think anyway)
 
Other game that I'm playing from 2017 is Conan Exiles, though that's still early access and isn't set for full release til 2018 (but if they are charging for it now, it may as well count as 2017)

For me? Nioh and RE 7.

I haven't even played anything from 2017, it'll probably be a while until I do. I've got a bit of a back log. The most recent game I've played as far as release dates are concerned is Pokemon Sun, but that's November 2016.
 
I really want to play Breath of the Wild, but I'm holding off on getting a Nintendo Switch and don't have a Wii U. It needs more games, and I need to be able to get it for a reasonable price, especially since I'm planning on building a new computer in a couple months or so.
 
I guess it depends more on what I do with that, if I go more mid-range and get a 1080 monitor I could probably afford a switch, but if I go a bit higher end and decide to get a 1440 monitor the Switch will have to wait longer.

I think being as it's still in early access it falls somewhere in line, but fort me ARK Survival Evolved hands down. I didn't really start playing heavily until mid way through 2016, but I now have over 800 hours logged. My wife and I have been addicted, and I've gotten quite a few buddies hooked as-well now. hosting our own server has been the most enjoyment so far, as many official servers are extremely laggy & overpopulated with giant tribes. If anyone is into Survival/Adventure games & Dinosaurs and has yet to try ARK, I highly recommend it. Game still has it's fair share of bugs/glitches, but none that are game killers. SLI support has finally made it's way as-well with some of the most recent Nvidia drivers, and overall game performance has much improved since I had started playing.

I'm very unimpressed with the games so far this year, having not played breath of the wild which is the only one i may nominate because of everyone saying amazing things about it, but I personally didn't feel like buying a console for one game.

Resident Evil 7 is my nominee so far. I wanna see how other horror games compare against it. Totally looking forward to outlast 2, and observer.
