I'm looking to move my older GTX-780ti down as my secondary graphics card and to purchase one of EVGA's newer generation cards as my primary. I'm not up on the latest specs since I purchased my existing card a few years back. Are any of the new cards able to run in SLI mode or similar with my GTX-780ti ?

Purpose: primarily to run DCS World and associated modules for flight simulation.

System:
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-WS (LGA1150)- (Supports NVIDIA 4-way SLI w/ 4 PCIe x 16 graphics cards).
CPU: i7-4790k Haswell 4.0GHz Devil's Canyon CPU
RAM: GSkill Trident X 16GB DDR3 SDRAM 1866
Graphics: EVGA GeForce GTX-780ti (03G-P4-2883-KR)
HDDs: Samsung 500GB SSD main / Caviar Black 1TB (Secondary / data)

Thank you in advance for taking the time to provide guidance, much appreciated :-)

    None.

For SLI, a GTX 780 Ti needs to be paired with a GTX 780 Ti.

    ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium

I have the Same MB & CPU combo ... most recent before I sold GPUs - I had (2) EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 in SLI on that same setup

What monitor are you using & what inputs does it support ?

    Your target budget ?

Then members could recommend a new GPU that will out perform your 780Ti - use less energy & make less heat at the same time

As mentioned for SLI - you need the same family of card ... can't mix different generations

OK, didn't realize the cards needed to both be from the same gen of GPUs. TY

Right now I've got a single older 27" ASUS monitor running at a max res of 2560x1440 using Dp connection. Obviously this is an older build from early 2015. Tring to see if I can utilize some of it with the addition of some upgrades for now. Budget for the card would probably be no more than $800 - $850 max. Thank you gents

For that budget you could get a RTX 2080 Super, however the next generation of Nvidia cards are rumored to be just a few months off so maybe spending $800 on something now isn't the best idea. If you however are not bothered by wanted the latest and greatest then by all means a RTX 280 Super is the fastest card you can get for that amount of money.

It seems the October  time frame is usually when the new releases come out (ask me how I know that. Got bit after buying the GTX-780ti in late July that year ). I will probably wait to see what materializes and use this time to figure out what I can salvage from this current build, if anything, or if I should build a whole new system.
