I want to know if I can re-purpose any of EVGA GTX 10-series heatsink+fan for a Founders Edition card, if possible. Aren't some EVGA cards use the same reference board designs, such that I can use its HSF on other brand boards?

I believe they were different for the 10 series at least since the EVGA Powerlink worked on the EVGA cards but wasn’t for the Founders Edition cards.

If the EVGA card had "founders edition" in the name, it should be the same as a NVIDIA founders edition. If it did not have "founders edition" in the name, it is probably different in some subtle or not-so-subtle way. What is your goal? An EVGA founders edition heatsink and fan should be the same as NVIDIA's, so I don't see the point. Any other non-founder's edition heatsink is not certain to fit a founder's edition card. Proceed at your risk. I'm sure you can make it work. Anything can be made. It will be your job to make it work and make it work properly.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have a Tesla P40 that's passively cooled, and I learned that the HSF from GTX 1080 FE would fit. I am trying to find used/parts 1080 cards out there, from which I can source the HSF from. I am trying to see if I can expand my search to include some EVGA 1080 boards, in addition to Nvidia's FE cards. I didn't realize EVGA actually made its own Founders Edition; I will assume the rest aren't compatible then. Thanks.

Thanks, and I thought of that too. The issue is that there isn't a lot of room in my Dell Precision T7810 box; there's a space at the back for may be a 80x80 fan, and most liquid cooling radiators are bigger than that (for a good reason). So I'll probably need to settle for an air cooling solution, and the best case scenario is for me to find a 1070/1080/Titan Xp FE cooler. I suppose people aren't rushing to dump their 10-series yes, so looks like I may have to wait a bit, or just go with a 3D printed solution.
