Hey just wondering what AOI water cooler I can use with my 980 Ti ACX2.0.

Does the Hybrid Water Cooler plug right in with the ACX2.0 card

Or will something like the NZXT G10 work?

Or even Corsair cooling line?

The EVGA hybrid cooler should work on all the Ti`s, but there`s none in stock yet.

I thought the hybrid only worked with the stock reference cooler? The reference blower still works to cool the VRAM. I don't think the acx can be dismantled halfway so it can serve the same purpose? So you would need a bracket/adapter/3rd party like the ones you mention or trade the acx cooler for a stock one (plenty of people want the acx over the hybrid) when you get your hands on a hybrid.

    Are you sure about that?

Under compatability it only shows the reference versions. Also, someone here on the forums told me (don't remember who) that the AIO cooler utilizes the reference cooler so it's not compatible with the ACX versions as the reference cooler itself is not separately available.

Yes only the reference versions, as the ACX is in a sense a hybrid, just happens that the fans and radiator are right on the card.

The ACX versions are ok and keep the card cool, but they just blow the hot air right into the case, that`s why I went back to the blower style when the 7 series came out.

People are reporting success with the G10 in this thread http://www.overclock.net/t/1487012/official-nzxt-kraken-g10-owners-club

From what I've read, the ACX version of the card has a midplate that keeps the VRMs cool, but introduces the need for a copper shim.

I've been trying to verify whether the EVGA reference version has this midplate without opening mine so I'll know whether or not to order a shim (I have two G10s & H55s in my parts pile that I had intended to put on my 680s but never got around to it).

The 980 ti axc 2.0 PCB is the same as the reference. So you just need to get your hands on a reference cooler/blower from eBay or something. Then the hybrid cooler will work with your 980 ti.

    Hello,

All the EVGA 980ti models are reference PCB design excluding the Classified and Kingpin Models.

Only reference / blower style heatsink designs will work with the Hybrid cooler. ACX version cards are not compatible with this cooler.

Isn't that what I was saying? You have to remove the ACX shroud/heatsink and mount the reference blower on the PCB. Then you can add the hybrid cooler as you said because they are compatible.

this is possible if you find a reference style heatsink online. No Nvidia partner sells them so you will most likely only be finding them second hand.

I actually did this today and got it to fit but the screws aren't long enough to mount everything together. I went from the acx 2.0 to the reference style blower and shroud/heatsink which fits perfectly on my PCB as I anticipated but the screws don't reach through my PCB or the backplate to the shroud? The 4 spring loaded screws also don't reach the water block/pump when I have the hybrid cooler set there. Any ideas on where I could get these screws? (Hopefully I can order them through you guys).

You should be able to use the provided screws after removing the springs, it is tough but possible. I did it one of my cards. Just be careful in tightening them equally together.

The other option is to use M2.5x8mm or 10mm screws. With 10mm you should be able to use springs also. I used 8mm for my other two cards though.

Edit: I meant this for the water block mount.
For VRMs, I just mounted the regular back and mid plates, pasted few heat sinks on the mid plate and have a fan blowing over them.

What is an AOI cooler? I see you said it more than once; so you must have meant it. "All one in"?

I have pretty extensive knowledge with the G10 and the Evga ACX cards. Here's what you need..

    - Black NZXT G10
    - Corsair H75
    - GPU Fan to PWM Fan Adapter
    - 5x 25mm x 25mm x 1.2mm Copper Shims
    - Nylon Finishing Washers (Size #6)

    Tips:
    - If you use a G10, pull the foam off the back plate so the screws fit or just reverse it.
    - The H55, H75 and H90 are all great, but I think the H55 or H90 are the way to go. After using the H75, temps were only 2-3c less than the H55(which only uses 1 fan as opposed to 2 fans on the H75). I think this is because the radiator itself is 2mm thicker than the H75's. Plus, one fan is a lot quieter than two.
    - Make sure to plug the pump into a molex or fan header that you keep running at maximum

Here's a picture of the foam thingy I'm talking about. As you can see, if you reverse it or peel it off, your screws should now fit.

I know this is a really old thread but which AIO's/Waterblocks work for the 980ti FTW? Are you saying that a 980ti reference waterblock will work for the FTW card?

the die size and hole are the same, its the rest of the pcb that is different. so to cool the power area and vrm and memory chip you would need one designed for that pcb

    This one will work.

Note: Only the gpu core will be watercooled. Vrm & vram will be passively cooled.

I am using the Corsair bracket with a H100 AIO and it is working great.
Keeps it a 3 or 4c cooler than the EVGA Hybrid cooler did.
