I am very frustrated with evga atm...i send my gtx 970 (via dealer) after it broke out.. warranty was still up and after the evga tech control they said to my dealer that this damage (burned out chip) is not covered by the warranty?? Really? i didnt do anything to burn the chip,, it just happened when i was using my pc... is that making any sense?they deny your warranty for a product which bought 400 euros even if it not your fault?? well done evga...

The dealer might be lying to you to avoid having to honor the warranty. I would request to speak to evga management for your region, if they refuse to talk to you, contact evga HQ in the US about it. Ask them how is it your fault for the card messing up.

The card is out of warranty or they denied the warranty claim due to the damage?

They denied the warranty and the reason was that a specific chip was burned out.at least that is what my dealer said to me. the funny thing is that this happened while i was using google chrome... my pc just didnt open with the vga up.

It sounds like they don't want to honor the warranty you paid for. I don't see how a person could cause a chip to burn out. I wouldn't go by what your dealer told you, i would request evga to explain how it was your fault that caused it.

I would Contact EVGA Customer Service directly, or a representative may reach out to you after seeing your post here..You can go to the EVGA Europe Guest RMA page and enter your card's serial number and see if in fact it is still under warranty, or open the dropdown at the top-left of this forum page and click Member, then My Products, then View Details of your registered product.

Just want to make sure, the dealer was on the authorized dealer list? I ask, because if you purchase from a dealer that is not on the authorized dealer list, the warranty starts when EVGA ships the card out. This would cause the total warranty to be shorter, so I am just seeing if there is more than just the burnt out chip causing an issue with the warranty. EVGA typically doesn’t deny warranty for burnt out components because they are part of life.

Well i dont know if its an authorized dealer but its one of the biggest e-shops in greece. and in guest rma my product seem to be out of warranty atm... but when they send it to evga it was near its ending... so maybe my dealer if he is not authorized, he was too slow sending it to germany (i gave the vga to my dealer at 27/2 and he send it 13/3) and warranty was over until it reached germany or when the tech control started.... i dont know hope some evga tech member will give me some answers.

Definitely Talk you evga through email, so you have a way to refer back to what they say. Let them know who you purchased the card from. You would need to register your card, with receipt and correct purchase date, and then go through EVGA directly to take advantage of the full warranty. Speak with them, as the dealer may not be giving the correct information.

So far, it sounds like you are being denied warranty due to purchase date mismatch, and they are saying your warranty has already expired. If you can prove when the card was purchased from an authorized retailer, you can show that it is not out of warranty yet, and they may be able to help more.

You need to refer to the EU authorized dealer list and retrieve your receipt ASAP.

Lastly, vulgar language will get you in trouble. Please refrain from cursing so you do not bring undue headache to yourself.

I've actually set up an RMA (on a GTX 480, years ago)...started putting the stock cooler back on it..and noticed damage on the PCB..and canceled the RMA...

Damage done past the factory (ie: once it gets into your hands) is not their problem.

ie: Can you prove the card failed, and your PSU didn't cause the 'burn out'? That you didn't short the card somehow? Sorry, but I agree with eVGA on this one.

    Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your product. Unfortunately, I do not see any RMA's set up for your EVGA account at this time. According the registry information, it seems like you're in warranty. I do not see any reason to believe it should be denied at this point. It is best to go through the warranty return process directly through the manufacture (EVGA). We do have offices in Europe to assist.  However, I will send you a personal message in order to get this process started for you. If you have any further questions or concerns, you're more than welcome to contact me back here through the forums or  our 24 hour customer support team member 1 (888) 880-3842 and by email at SupportEU@evga.com

    Regards,
    Thomas N.
