What's the trick with LEDSync? It will persist through a restart but sleep blows it up

So I use afterburner but I wanted control over my evga hydrocopper blocks LED and was pleased to find that you could extract and get the LEDSync installer separately from precision.   This was some time ago, evidently now (through my experimentation trying to fix this) turns out you can opt to install just LEDSync through the precision installer.

That being said, every time i sleep my computer (every night) I have to open LEDSync upon returning and put my preferred settings back because it turns blue....

Ive uninstalled it and reinstalled it a dozen times.  Restarted.  Messed with the task it creates.  Flashed the cards vbios.  Flashed the MRU thing or w/e it is that has something to do with the lighting.   No idea whats left but its absolutely absurd I cant sleep my pc without the settings reverting to blue.

If anyone has anything for me my OCD would owe you in a big way.

I'm looking at the task it creates and removes.  Unfortunately the command line it uses starts the program without the gui, but still places the icon in the tray.

I cant find any documentation on it, but I'm hoping a evga employee can hop in and tell me what other switches are present?  perhaps one that expands on the silent switch and runs it without the tray icon?  I'd set up a task for that and presumably be set.   Might still load blue because of... things.   But would change to preferred color at least as of log in without a darned tray icon running.

or a way to register it as a service to run in the background perhaps?

yikes even when I have ledsync set to off, if i put the pc to sleep and wake it up (with led sync even still running in the tray!) it wakes up to blue.

So in short, im forced to have blue period, or not sleep my pc.

This is not related to your issue, but I saw that the Gigabyte Combo/Aorus also does that. You need to close and restart the Gigabyte Suite and RGB to fix that. Also, the colors, showing on the APP Suite are not similar, they don't look like the colors the GPU, Mobo, RAM are showing. So you have to test different colors on the software to get the one you need.

I think only ASUS managed this right. When it works.

yea i use asus aura but have it all disabled for now which holds its setting fine through shutdown, restart or sleep.  This damn evga waterblock will hold through a restart, but sleeping turns it back to blue.  about to go disconnect the power connecter which is a real shame considering the day may came I want to use the rbg again then I have to open it back up etc etc.

whelp, was able to resolve my own issue it seems.  Using LEDSync on its own is a no-go.  I have used afterburner for years and was trying to get around using precision when I first needed light control.  I found that subcomponent and that you could use it on its own and assumed its how precision controlled the lighting.

It appears it something else entirely (handles syncing with multiple evga rbg) which also explains why I cant even click it in precision in the newer versions even though its installed.  (should code out the button!)

That being said.  turning off the lighting via precision itself does seem to hold through sleep.  Doesnt appear to cause any issue with afterburner either so I guess im gonna be okay as far as that goes.

Little question about using LED on video cards. Does is it use a lot of CPU and ram to run?

The only thing it should draw is power, and that should be negligible.
