Im sure EVGA will come up with something. If not, we might have to wait til November - end of dec for normal and regulated stock :/. Its hard to beat these bots and such.

that's what I'm figuring too...  can't beat the bots, so nothing else to do but hang tight...  and keep running with my 1080 for now...

idk man, so these captchas are difficult to surpass unless you use a legit bot service. i played around with py and selenium and the captcha gets longer and longer each time it messes up.

You know they had a week to figure it with todays launch they could have waited until they can release a decent amount of inventory it just seems silly to me.

Amazon had stock at MSRP?  or the scalper rates?

You have to go to the Nvidia storefront on Amazon to see cards at MSRP.

They can only produce so many cards, be patient. The issue is the bots, not the supply.

To "beat" AMD to the market and create deliberate FOMO and "buzz". Because this time AMD has a direct competitor that is way WAY more efficient. The scarcity and hype was 10% deliberate. If AMD sells like it's likely to, nVidia just shot themselves in the face, because AMD has five times the stock they do and have taping out since the beginning of august with 97% yields.

Wouldn't mind seeing nVidia get b*tch slapped...   this BS they've induced with no pre-orders...

Regardless, I'm going to hang in there for EVGA.  I love my 1080, and really looking forward to the 3080.

    This.

I don't see the issue with allowing us to just pre-order just like with any other hot new piece of tech (phones, vr headsets, etc.)

I totally agree. Apple and Facebook have this figured out. Let us pre-order/backorder the product.

I'm sure the supply will catch up with demand. It has only been a week. I have been very frustrated as well, especially since pre-orders seem to not be allowed but my frustration is mostly pointed at nvidia and not EVGA.

Totally agree. NVIDIA knew in advance the demand would be record breaking (they said this publicly).

If a certain threshold of product had hard launched, there wouldn't be any incentive for scalpers to sponge up inventory because they wouldn't be able to make money off them. When a single person manages to buy 42 3080 cards on launch day because they paid $75 for some leveraged automation anyone can become a scalper and make some cash. NVIDIA hasn't had a proper hard product launch since I can't even remember when.

NVIDIA's having driver issues with 3000-cards. There's hardware issues with the clocks being too high from AIB cards. There's no supply of even the most outrageously priced model, and the 3070 won't launch for another month. Customers are frustrated and goodwill is being burned up. Minimal supply is just incentivizing continued scalping and this will continue to be the case for the next month, which just feedbacks into making the supply problems worse. Every single one of these problems could've been avoided entirely had NVIDIA waited to build inventory for a hard launch.

Hopefully stock starts building up in the next few weeks. I honestly just want to have one before Cyberpunk, so there is still a good amount of time for that.

Been thinking about this lately, and it seems it's just marketing to get their foot in the door just before the holiday season. Maybe let the first users find the bugs. By Christmas, have it all sorted out. Maybe?

42 x 750 = 31500, 42 x 1500=63000, 63000-31500=31500 so 31500 in profit for 75 dollars is a good investment. because we all know that there will always be idiots that will buy up stock at those prices so the scalpers will always run out of inventory. And that's just for the 3080 model from one person and using a rough average on values.

The funny thing is they could have easily charged a set fee (say $100) for pre-order so that you could get the first set of cards. 10s if not 100s of thousands of people would have done that.

.... so because you got a card, no one else should have a better time getting one?
that's all i read from your post.

What if I said that one's entire life had been decided by fate? That every single one of your actions, from the minute to the monumental, stemmed not from your own choices, but had already been decided upon? That life being a journey of limitless possibilities was but an illusion, and no matter how fiercely man struggled, he stood at the mercy of a long-established path? The wealthy shall know their riches. The needy shall starve on the streets. The wicked shall be wicked, the righteous just. The beautiful, the hideous, the strong, the frail, the fortunate, the miserable... and finally, the victors and the defeated. What if I said that all such things had been carved into stone eons ago, allowing for no divergence? If so, sinners have nothing to answer for, nor do saints have any true virtue to their name. What if I said that not a single action is carried out of one's own volition, but had been decided long ago? That we are merely adrift in the current of time? Tell me, would yo
